Jason crouched low to the ground, eyes and ears focused on the rabbit in the small clearing just beyond the bushes he was hidden in, his tail swished back and forth behind him
He hadn't hunted like this in a long time
He hadn't spent a full moon as a wolf in a long time either
The bushes next to him rustled, and Jason huffed quietly. It had been an even longer time since he had taught someone to hunt,
Not including Spencer, UnSubs didn't count.
The rusting stopped and settled as the pup quit wriggling and settled down. Poor kid was restless. He'd have to take him on a run before they headed back to the farm,
Rabbits were the type of prey that was perfect for teaching pups hunting, easy to grab once you got the hang of it, but fast and quick to startle, perfect for bored and restless pups,
Jason turned his head and poked the puppy with his nose, getting his attention and tapping his paw to ask 'ready?'
Scott swallowed and nodded,
Jason stumbled up into his beta–shift, a whole pile of rabbits in his arms,
He had caught most of them, but Scott had managed to grab three, which his beta was incredibly proud of,
They had also made it back before three a.m., which was a bonus. Maybe they would end up in an actual bed before the sun came up,
Considering all of Stiles's stories of the last couple of full moons they've had, that was wishful thinking, it was more likely they'd either end up on Jason's couch or in the barn, likely in either beta or full shift for both options,
Jason adjusted the rabbit pile in his arms until he could press two fingers to his mouth and whistle at the zooming pup ahead,
And just like that, He was off bounding towards the house, Jason smiled and turned toward the shed,
"You know, according to Wikipedia, werewolves actually age pretty well"
Jason winced, the kid wasn't.... wrong per say, but he wasn't quite right either
"Not quite, close, but not quite."
"Are you insinuating Wikipedia would lie to me?"
Scott muffled a laugh from his corner,
Jason sighed and relented, changeling the subject,
"You know you don't have to sleep in the barn, right?" Which he didn't, Jason had cleaned out a guest room for both of the boys
Stiles just pointed at Scott, "if Scott sleeps in the barn, then I sleep in the barn too."
"I can use his furry self as a pillow."
Jason smiled, "Alright." He had a feeling he was going to wake up in the morning as the pillow
"Night," Scott called before shifting to full wolf and laying down on the mat,
"G'night," Stiles pulled the blanket and actual pillow that Jason gave him and curled up next to his best friend,
"Goodnight, boys." Jason shifted to full wolf and curled up himself, letting his eyes slip close almost instantly,
The last thing he thought before falling asleep was that he should plant the flowers Dave sent him in the garden,
