Shortly after the Chunin exams, Kankurou decided that with his father no longer looming over him it was finally time for both halves of his family to meet.
He wanted to surprise Gaara and Temari with the info of their (Basically) younger sister (well younger for Temari, Gaara is the same age as the child), and he wanted to finally give his sister a home without the restraints set by his father.
Fortunately for him, none of his siblings objected the invite for a “Casual Hangout” and came along unknowing of the event he wanted to unfold.
Unfortunately his little sister arrived at the meeting place just as his older sister decided to scold him for a inappropriate pun he made, and the events followed as shown above.
(Notes: 1. She calls him Dad because that was the cover story he and her came up with, he looks old enough and anyone bothering her would be more afraid of Dad then Brother. Doesn’t really work with people who know how old he really is though. 2. She and Temari have not met, but she and Gaara have. She is aware of his status as the resident Jinchūriki, and of what his Bijju is. Hence the raccoon referance 3. Kankurou meant well but did not plan very far ahead. 4. Yes, Shukaku did manifest just so he could make the statement of “Kankurou fucks!”
