Did You Get Enough Love, My Little Dove? (Why Do You Cry?)

The blood trail paints a vivid picture, leading them all the way to the spot where the stranger had collapsed. His body is tucked into a shallow alcove in the rocks, a paltry shelter from whatever had chased him there. Nobody gets too close—from the smell alone, he’s been dead for a while.

“Guess we were too late.” Wind says regretfully.

“No, this wasn’t monsters.” Twilight frowns. “This was an animal. Maybe a bear.”

“I thought bears didn’t attack people like this?”

“Some do, some don’t.”

“Why?”

“Who knows? Maybe he threatened it. Maybe it was rabid. Nature is unpredictable that way.”

Wind shudders. “And I thought Monsters were all there was to be afraid of on land.”

“Wh—I—no!” Legend splutters, face going red in his fluster. Quick as a wink, Four reaches out and pinches him again, delighted to be rewarded with an even more violent reaction than before.

“Sky, what’s your favorite color?” Wind asks. The question is entirely unheralded, but Wind has a habit of asking such questions so Sky doesn’t hesitate too much to answer.

“Blue,” he says. Blue like the sky. Blue like Sun’s eyes.

Before he can get too lost in the thought, he catches Wind nodding, expression distinctly unimpressed.

“Yeah. You look like a guy whose favorite color is blue.”

The remark might have been inconsequential, if he hadn’t said it like there was exactly one disappointing answer to a meaningless question, and Sky had just given it to him. Sky frowns at him, offended.

“Give it back!” Four yells, and Legend simply holds the bag of rupees up further from his reach.

“No! I won fair and square,” the Veteran retorts. In a fit of stunted rage, Four does the only thing he can think to do, which is reach out and pinch Legend’s sides as hard as he can.

His anger is overshadowed by surprise as Legend reacts—by letting out a sharp squeak, wrenching himself away from the offending fingers. Four raises his eyebrows, evil intentions welling up in him as he makes a realization.

And now, my prompt word: insecure

“Hey, I’ve been meaning to mention,” Warriors says, breaking the silence that had settled over the table, “I think we should do something for Wind.”

“Hm? Why?” Twilight asks, eyebrows rising. Legend and Sky’s attention has been similarly caught, and the two listen in intently.

“I think he’s had a rough few days. The kind that remind you you’re young and inexperienced. I think it’s made him a little insecure about being a part of our little chain, here, lately.”

The others nod with murmurs of agreement—they’re familiar with that particular demon.

“I’m down.” Twilight agrees.

“Me too.” Sky nods eagerly.

“Did you have something in mind?” Legend asks.

How about tile? (Obviously, various forms apply)

“What are we working with?” Hyrule asks. The dungeon has been nothing but trouble so far, traps and monsters at every turn and no exit in sight. They’ve been wandering for hours trying to get out in as few pieces as possible.

Legend is peering around a corner and through a large pair of plain stone doors—already open, perhaps from a previous (and hopefully more fortunate) adventurer—to try and get a look at what they’re dealing with. He doesn’t answer Hyrule for a moment before he abruptly gasps and wrenches himself back against the wall.

“What? What?!” Hyrule hisses, anxious. Legend looks a little pale, teeth gritted and expression pinched.

“Only my worst enemy,” he spits, bitter and vitriolic. “Flying floor tiles.”

Hyrule blinks.

I answered this already but then Tumblr ate that answer for no reason so I had to take a minute to answer it again 😂

Speaking of ‘more,’ I think you’re a better artist than me in many ways. Not that that may mean much, nor to take any joy via comparison, but looking at your and my drawings I noticed mine is a little bit rigid. I meant to make Legend lean, but without any hint at all of fat on him I think he looks a little stiff. He’s not quite as fluid as he could be and just looks a little unnatural.

Looking at yours, Twilight and Warriors have just enough pudge to make them look healthy! I also personally noticed—though maybe it was just the angle, idk if it was intentional—that Warriors has less pudge than Twi. I loved this detail as I thought it was true to their characters; Warriors being a soldier who purposefully keeps himself in shape via training and exercise, thus he would be more lean, while Twilight has more natural strength as a sturdy farmhand—[he trains, but] his muscles are more due to the nature of his work as well as his body’s natural build.

They both just look so healthy and natural, you really knocked it out of the park!!! The ball is catching fire as it falls out of the atmosphere!!! And I’m over here losing my mind like WHOAAAAAA HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIII
