Thinking about GDT's Creature having some kind of immortality and what it might be like for him to keep on living and watching humanity and watching how humans change the fabric of the Earth had me thinking of Good Stab from The Buffalo Hunter Hunter.

How both of them experience bodily horror that forces foreign thoughts into their minds; the Creature having a body made up of pieces of different people whose memories afflict his dreams, Good Stab gaining the traits (and by extension, the minds) of the life forms he's forced to consume. How neither of them asked to be like this. How the change was violent for both of them, and continued to be violent, until eventually they slowly began to sense something new on the horizon -- not peace, but something like relief.

Both of them forced to live, both of them watching humanity grow and the wilderness shrink, both of them watching the world slowly get harder to hide in.
