As the expert on Goliaths I would like to point out that we also see that the longer a Goliath is away from battle the less naturally violent they are like with Morgana and Az-Pratu. They both live secluded lives and when we do see Morgana fight it's in self-defense and she minimizes the damage dealt.

Some of the canon goliath lore I'm not too big of a fan of, so when it comes to older goliaths (with the help of @shadowmelter ) we determined that instead of their villages leaving them to die (wtf WOTC) they do something called "The Final Adventure" where they take on progressively more dangerous missions and adventures in an attempt to die bringing glory to their family or a final chance at bringing honor to their name. It's a pride thing. Going on this campaign is basically her third try at this and she's getting tired of nothing being able to kill her. She's just too badass even though she has lower back pain and her knees aren't the same
One of the strangest cultural changes I've observed in my lifetime was the blurring of the line between Fan and Shareholder. It happened slowly at first - the occasional fan who made it lucky or inherited something would ignore the market wisdom and sink money into the company that generates the material they crave. Then the whales among them started making waves, dictating the progression of the stories or the merchandise and then others began to follow.
There used to be a difference between a shareholder meeting and a Comic Con reveal: different people were in attendance, for different reasons, at a different time and location. Now the companies that make media or toys structure these presentations in much the same way. Sales and retail are becoming disconnected from the desires of the aging fanbase. It is perversely more profitable to spend millions to make one product that satisfies one patron than it is to spend hundreds of thousands on many products that will be broadly popular.
From my perspective this seems largely harmless and interesting but I always like to estimate the number of hearts that need to keep beating to sustain a large organisation. At what point does the death of a single superfan mean the death of the behemoth rights-holder?
