who named them/significance of their name: kaja was named by her mom! i don’t imagine there was any specific significance to the name other than it being druidic.
home they grew up in: i guess she technically grew up in a hut, but more importantly she grew up in the forest. u know. bc she’s a druid. the forest is her home and quite frankly cities are the most terrifying shit she’s ever seen
relationship with parents: its uhhhh complicated. her father is her hero in life and raised her on compassion above all else. she loves her mother dearly too, but she’s just kinda .. hard to please. and always upset. and barely spared kaja a smile until she could prove she was something special.
3 words to describe them as a child: reserved, studious, disciplined
childhood friend(s): while she did have other friends among her tribe, she honestly primarily trained hung out with her parents and with the animals.
favorite toy: not necessarily a toy, but when she started weapons training with her mom, she got a quarterstaff carved from one of the trees in their little grove. as she started learning magic she also used it as a spell-casting focus
childhood trauma?: i think her whole relationship with her mom was pretty traumatic. she never got to have a normal childhood and play with the other kids; she was always training, always practicing, always learning, trying to get to a point where her mom might be proud of her. while it made her an incredibly goal-oriented person, it also made her stubborn and too serious for her own good.
hobbies?: when she wasn’t busy trying to Be Enough, kaja spent a lot of time with the local animals, as well as people-watching. i also like to think she read every book/tome available.
childhood fear(s)?: being a failure.
quirk(s)?: she didnt speak a whole lot; if she could get away with communicating with gestures, she would.

Shorelines are shifting making it easier to walk out on the water AND Treasures are coming up out of the deep waters. Haven’t found a Shell as perfectly intact as this one in at least a decade on these beaches. I found it lying in the waters, alone, easy to retrieve and perfectly washed of sand. • I’m praying the treasures we find this year will come this easy and be so glaringly beautiful they are impossible to ignore - you’ll just have to pick it up and behold it! • When’s the last time you went for a #GodWalk ?
