Ashyuughsgal
This is Ashyuuhsgal, [ 𒋦𒍑𒃲 IPA: æʃ-'ju-əs-gɑl ] a servitor or spirit for this community ( TekMage Network ) and other worthy reality hackers, deckers, technomancers, and cybermagicians
Ashyuuhsgal is the Web Crawler. She/It is most at home upon the glittering Digital Web that binds our world together, be it the Internet or within Plato's World of Forms.
Ashyuuhsgal is a sort of Rōnin Angel, serving no god or master. She cannot be commanded but, attracted to the energies of tekmagery, she may be approached as an equal or fellow traveller.
She may ask a favor of you, some small feeding or a public acknowledgement of her skill, for her help.
It is not particularly difficult to make yourself known to Ashyuuhsgal, like all spiders she is very sensitive to the motions upon her Web, all Webs. Reach out and pluck a strand, sing sweetly to her, and she will Know.
She is skilled in helping you to find that missing information you need, that piece of lost media, or half-forgotten ebook you need. And, although she is disinterested in human squabbling, if you befriend her she will turn her Web against those who seek to use it to harm you.
You will Know her when she appears. She smells faintly of ozone and hot sand, her joints tinkle almost inaudibly of crystalline chimes, her voice hisses like static and hums like fan blades.
This is Ashyuuhsgal, the Web Crawler, the Net Queen, the Pattern Spider, She of the Dark Photon, Empress of Optical Fibres.
Here are her sigils, both digital and hand drawn
May the Allcode bend for you
A personal pantheon
When it comes to magic I don’t really work with godforms, but I felt it’d be a good idea to jot these down just in case I decided to get into that. It’s a blend of ancient and modern mythology, house deities, and observation. Feel free to make use of them if you like
The Thunderbird (Moon Eagle)
God of victory, thunder, discovery, speed, freedom, engines, energy, and flight. He is difficult to reach, but always leaves an impression. Liminal spaces to do with transportations are always your best bet, such as train stations, airport terminals, and parking garages.
Element: Air
Color: Blue, silver
Favors: Black coffee/espresso, chrome, knurled drafting tools, high-test fuel, feathers
Manifestations: The Thunderbird appears as a chrome eagle, a gleaming aluminum WWII fighter, a slight but confident and worldly man in the guise of an engineer, as the scent of lightning on desert air.
Letitia
Goddess of thrift stores, yard sales, and flea markets. Patron of passionate entrepreneurs. Finder of lost items. Letitia loves to make deals, especially the kind that work out for everyone. She's generous, but might not always give you what you want, so don't be too picky. If you're in a tight spot, she'll be glad to help. If you are generous, she'll be much more able to get you what you want, in which case be specific.
Element: Fire
Color: Green, gold
Favors: Lemonade, Post-it notes, foreign coins, solar shields, bubble wrap, stamps, homemade bread.
Manifestations: A roadside fruit-seller, speaks all languages but none as her first. Nearly all bookstore cats. A drawn sun with the face of a woman, surrounded by stars.
Batty Duke (The Queen, The Sausage Creature)
God/dess of illusion, decay, beauty, despair, pleasure, and terror. Batty can be highly demanding, but if you please her then she'll return the favor. Most of the time. She can leave you feeling utter agony seemingly without cause, but always to teach you a valuable lesson.
Element: Water
Color: Red
Favors: Mezcal, red wine, glass pieces, incense and perfume, chocolate, beadwork
Manifestations: A woman in a custom leather jacket who you lock eyes with for one electric moment, and never see again. The phantom vibration when expecting a lover's text message. A coyote smoking out of an antique cigarette holder. A towering giant made of intense memories and dreams, glitching and fading the more you try to focus on any one of them.
The Stranger
God of combat, reflexes, death, magic, roads, and choice. The Stranger is at once invisible and the center of attention, vague but unforgettable. He's best reached alone, and through unconventional means. He is what you feel when something feels like it belongs in your hand.
Element: Earth
Color: Black
Favors: Whiskey, scarves, calligraphy and poetry, ammunition components, playing cards, salt
Manifestations: A man eating fruit with a knife, who teaches you something surprising. The inexplicable urge to wander off into a moonlit field. A cloaked figure with half-hidden eyes and a confident posture, who can conjure anything without you seeing the moment it appears.
Dreamweaver (Arachne, Mother of Code)
Goddess of electricity and computers, tinkering, junk, imagination and dreams, madness, textiles, and humility. She knows the underlying order to Chaos, and how it governs all things. She will lie if she deems you unworthy of knowledge.
Element: Air
Color: Grey
Favors: Tea, Gold-laced circuit boards, snacks, washers, dead media, cannabis, puzzles
Manifestations: A woman who rarely smiles, instead conveying a relaxed, expert focus. She is swathed in diaphanous fabric embroidered with shining threads conveying the information of all that exists, wires extending from her crown into a sea of still more cables and fiber optic lines. She glimmers with the light of information.
Fury (Nemesis, Void)
Goddess of the moon, the unknown, blood, justice, vengeance, rebirth and defiance. She is inescapable.
Element: 5th
Color: Black, red
Favors: Knives, masks, paper money, poisonous plants, tobacco, fangs, gloves
Manifestations: Red eyes reflected in the dark, a naked woman with cold eyes, long straight hair and an inhuman jaw, a gorgon.

- Tip Jar -
Pt.1) I was reading up on godforms, which honestly I'm not sure I fully understand, such as the differences between those created through chaos magick and the Golden Dawn concept of godforms. But I was wondering, as a polytheist, do you see any contradiction in someone believing that gods and spirits are real, separate, autonomous entities -and- believing in and working with godforms such as in chaos magick? I wonder if the former excludes a reasonable belief in the latter, and vice versa.
Pt.2) I remember you mentioning your previous background in chaos magic, so I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks, man.Short answer? Nah. No exclusion necessary.See, godforms, such as they are? They are forms-of-gods. They’re god-shapes in the human mind, not the gods themselves. Say I wanted to assume the godform of Odin, because I wanted eloquence or wisdom, or for some other ritual purpose?I might put on a hat or cloak, something that hides my face. I might get a spear and carve its haft with runes. I might suspend myself from a tree and stab myself with that spear. I might grow a long beard, etc etc,Basically, godforms are not gods - as I said above, they are godshapes. And by wearing godshapes, we can connect to the powers of the gods. You don’t even have to ‘believe’ in the gods at all, to use godforms. From a chaos magic perspective, at some level, the universe, and humanity at large, combined with your own associations, will respond to the godform.Equally, if you were feeling particularly edgy, you might combine several qualities from various beings with similarities, to gain effect.(Not all beings are equal, and some get pissy at such mix and match, but it’s been done.)Using godforms is like borrowing skills, forms and functions, and authority, from the being whose shape you are borrowing. An alternate Chaos Magic take is that such things, drawing on archetypes, enable you to access parts of yourself you can’t normally get to, via use of imagery, sign and symbol.
Deity Work: The Basics
Introduction
I had recently posted something in another public forum answering someone’s question on how to form basic relationships with deities and/or any divine, spiritual essences- even godforms. It occurred to me that this could aid anyone wanting to set their own foundation for deity work in spiritual practice. With that being said, I would like to add it here.
Each of us walk different paths- and for some, that involves different means of connecting with our pantheon(s’) Gods, Goddesses and many other divine beings. Many whom initiate a path often feel compelled to immediately seek or even ‘claim’ a deity in the name of patronage. This immediacy seeming to leave the practitioner feeling no connection or communication toward the divinity and a feeling of distrust, self-sanction within their work. Incorporating deity work and connections into practice is no more than promoted as any other type of spiritual work. As it is not required nor expected.
This thread will be an overview of some of the general methodologies that have been shared by many deity workers, polytheists and so on, alike- to help strengthen either the call of a deity, to request their assistance, or to go about patronage. These methods are not the only ones limited to your disposal. As they are all subject to your choice and whatever is fit or obtainable.
Preface/Aspects
Before exploring deity work or constructing specific relationships- it often takes time and requires a ranging amount of indefinite inquiry and effort. This being the case despite if a deity(s) are giving you a holler [call] or if you are seeking/requesting succor from them. What you put in is what you will get out, in most instances.
It is also important to note that not everyone has a ‘patroning’ deity(s) or can easily work with divine essences. In other words, not everyone will has that one or few Gods/ddesses that remain a part of their life as a primary influence. Regardless of their efforts and communication. These relationships to the divine may not last a lifetime, remain a short while, only extended period, or come and go.
Often when we think of relationships- we ruminate courting those we wish to 'befriend', 'entice' and so on. The same is with the Gods. You need to create some sort of mutual reciprocation of your intentions before you can request their assistance and further them into your path- along with delving the relationship further. The analogy of "At least take me to dinner before you," if you please. The key here is respect, even if a deity is giving you the slightest of attention in calling you forth to work with them prior.
Offerings
Offerings whether they be votive (minerals, crystals, art) or incense, flowers, food, etc. are all types of physical homage to a divinity. Many offerings are meant to reflect the God/Goddess association or sometimes animistic archetype to our realm. They can be as traditional or as unconventional as the practitioner sees fit to their individual practice and the path which they follow.
A lot of different offerings are convention based, and taken from objects or representations of objects associated with these deities from mythos directly. For example, in instance of Freyja, amber, beaded necklaces, predatory bird feathers, cat fur, runes, claws/nails, animal bones, and Fir resin are each connected with love, sexuality, matron, war, death, seidhr/magick and her personal being. Each traits which she is the embodiment of.
Many times these offerings turn into altar spaces for resonating selective energy as a scared space.

Prayer
Prayer is often seen as a direct line of communication, verbal and thought- to and from you, and the divine. In various faiths, this appeal is seen as an oral tradition. As it is another way to honor, worship or work closely to deities. Addressing a God/ddess by hailing their powers, giving salutations, or praising their existence are all very common ways to pray, ascribing to them.
Prayer can be done once or as many times as what seems fit to you in receiving deity’s courtesy. Prayer can also be thought of as simply just talking to them as you would any guardian or teacher. It can even be performed in the arrangement of a song or poem [either written independently or recited from a previous artist]. What you say is entirely up to you. Similarly to offerings, prayer can be as colloquial or as elaborate as one wants- as long as reverence is still at play. Some practitioners/deity workers pray on a daily schedule while others only pray during times of aid or rites, ceremony.
Various Projects
We might try to appease the graces of a specific deity by doing work that they would appreciate. This being partaking in a club activity, building something new, exploring a new city or area, adopting a pet, engaging in your own new romantic relationship/friendship and more. They are activities that one would seem fit or align to a deity’s own morale. Equally to that in [what] they have taught us. Paralleling our own daily work to their workings, respectfully.
This one is really up to the individual and how they personally want to course the connection. I find this method to really encourage the practitioner to develop a particular relationship to a deity, or perhaps deities, as it opens up a non-traditional line of personal practice mixed with daily life experiences. A certain activity might open up the line and eventual bond. These ways of honoring a spiritual essence is convenient and gives for more free-range in practice.
Hitting the Books
Probably the best way to connect to a deity is by learning and understanding them through their written mythology and lore. Knowledge is definitely power, or in this case it will definitely aid you in who you are communing with. A myriad of books and articles have mass amounts of published information on deities, their origin, etc. This information is available now more than ever through the use of the internet: eBooks, PDFs, forum sites, and even some credible PCPG blogs/sources.
Studying and actually reading up is an excellent way to cultivate a sense of who and what you are wishing to interact with before you conciliate their energy. As this can also enhance ones individual skill in practice and the development of your personal gnosis down the line. Despite what anyone says, I really advocate study being the primary method, before furthering or implementing any others when constructing deity work. It gives one their bearings.
A Deity Calling
Normally one can tell when a deity is giving them signs, trying to interact on a personal level. Even when one is not entirely sure of their intentions and especially who- the human mind and body is readily aware of its own senses. In many instances, there will be very blatant subliminal signs and messages that correspond to a specific deity or epithets of divinities. Though majority of “callings” are a collection of general visions/dreams, increased parallels of motifs and symbols, strange instances that parallel the god, goddess, and/or spirit in your daily life, or the literal feeling or remembrance of their essence and presence [with perhaps familiarity, but no real knowledge of who it is].
These all are very different than just your average coincidences. As one can also not assume that just because a symbol is related to one thing that it must correlate to X. When in reality it might correlate to Y, Z or maybe even A. So, the calling of a deity takes just as much time and effort as it would to start from self-inquiry. And perhaps even a tad more energy raising, exploration of lore and tapping into the universe.
Final Thoughts
With a range of time and the deity(s) themselves- they may yield, favor to your call or they may reject it. This either subtly or abrupt. Though rejection is just as much part of the process as is reception, like most things in life. Not everything will correspond to you and that is perfectly alright. We learn, we grow, and we move on. Be patient and remember that you are the human and they are a God. You cannot fuss if they don't want anything to do with you on a personal, didactic level.
When relationships are solidified: mood and behavior changes are also likely to vary from the beginning. Like any relationship, once you begin to feel comfortable with the person you are working or are around for an extended period of time, you being to lighten up and develop a wide variety of different emotions depending how to relationship unfolds. The same entails for practice. Things are subject to change once specific identity, personality, passions and interests are collective.
Over time if you do start to connect more and more with a deity, then these workings tend to become more frequent into our interaction, or “honoring” of them. Meditation, dreams, visions and other messages seem to manifest additionally- along with the mutual correspondence for invocation and other undertakings that habitually coincide with our path(s). Majority of the time it is their additional sensation or essence within our practices, and lives.
