ooooh, man. yes. and then having to scrap it? *shudder* Nightmares.
I’m not yet at the having to scrap it stage, but I’m worried I might have to walk back a few thousand words and ditch a plot direction. It all feels very “garden path” right now.
Part of the problem with writing is that one never sees other’s works in progress, or the pain they’re going through mid-story, so it’s easy to think everyone else is brilliant and has it all together all the time and I’m the only disaster in the room.

oh shit :(((( what kind of mask are you wearing? May be try a lighter version? It was very hard this summer for us here, but we found masks that allow to breathe

It was definitely dehydration -- we’re not supposed to take the mask off and I didn’t bring a cup with a straw. Definitely going to bring a a cup with one on Monday. I was wearing a light cotton mask but the room as 78C with almost 80% humidity (I took in my temp/barometer to check) before I ever started teaching so the more I exhaled, the more I overheated.
Thanks for all your good thoughts. I don’t know what to do about it since I don’t have any other option than to wear the mask. Maybe a personal fan I could point right at my face ... wish I lived in a Star Trek world where I had my own cooling system/bubble.

It’s always a great conference. Every year it moves cities and it’s almost always in the best places. Seattle, New Orleans, D.C., San Diego. Plus, really great panels. I love it.

Same. I was on the fandango site for an hour, then when I get to go and pick my seats, it timed out and sent me back to the waiting room. We had to go to a different theater website (AMC and their app crashed) and our seats are in the front row, BUT WE GOT EM. What a mess
Did they not expect the rush? I mean, honestly, anyone could have predicted the rush for the best seats. I’d have had to take a 10 pm show to get seats in the good reclining chairs theater and no way would I stay up until 2 am.
