#gloomstone

That's a good question and it's pretty tough to answer. CryToDeath was what introduced me to Gloomstone, but Chlorine hooked me and I've never heard anything like it before. Chlorine synergistically combines a palette of emotions together and transitions between them extremely naturally into something that is more than the sum of its parts. Chlorine is playful, malicious, triumphant and majestic and it just bleeds soulfulness and independence.

CryToDeath is also up there because it's extremely visceral and I love the deft use of skips in the song that accentuate its chaos and hostility. It's the sound of someone that's lonely, but refuses to give in to the world and I can relate to that a lot.

Finally, Better Off Alone is a great track and also one of my favorites. Coincidentally, that's my best friend's song by Gloomstone, so it's cool that you chose that.

Something I love about GS is how clear they are in conveying emotion. It's extremely unambiguous and you can tell exactly how they feel. It's very rare that I hear someone with such robust character and distinctiveness. Of course there's more to be said about other tracks, but this post is long enough ; )
