On Wednesday, April 28, Member of Parliament for Winnipeg Centre, Leah Gazan, will be making a unanimous consent motion in the House of Commons calling for a guaranteed livable basic income in Canada.
Tonight, Leah Gazan will be participating in an online discussion about Motion-46 and the critical need for a Guaranteed Livable Basic Income.
The event is being organized by the First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg.

Meanwhile, in Canada, NDP are still fighting for a GLBI!!! They just brought it up again in House of Commons yesterday
Fellow Canadians,
Today (Thursday November 5th), Leah Gazan will be speaking in the House of Commons on a motion for livable income and a wealth tax here in Canada.
This is not Motion 46, which is for a dedicated Gauaranteed Living Basic Income, but it is a precursor to it. For those that may not know, these motions propose a steady, unbiased income for All Canadians, in addition to those governmental subsidies and programs already established for specific groups (disability et al).
This is so important to me that it makes my heart hurt. Now is the best time to enact this kind of real, systemic change and start making life Better for All Canadians.
There is a petition in the link below, as well as a link to where you can watch today (broadcast will be saved afterwards). Please, talk about this among your social circles; we have never been so close to this.

For a whole generation this song was gay rights. It was out there, public -- unashamed and in your face. And, what's more, what may have been hard to believe at the time, it was accepted. It wasn't off in the fringes somewhere, it wasn't hidden, this song played on the best of the radio stations for everyone to hear, and without apology. I guess that's something the kids these days will never understand.
