Greek/Scottish outfit, finding an odd balance between whirlwind no wave and slow, soft-spoken vulnerability. The peaks and valleys throughout the tape are quite engaging, and never predictable when tempos shift. They maintain a discordant approach even as the mood dips and space opens up musically. There are even “discordant nods to Greek folk traditions“ (and the closer is even sung in Greek).  

GLARC may still feel like the new bairns on the block to some of us, but it turns oot they’ve been researching the periphery of DIY good times for an entire decade already and they’re acknowledging this wi two days of music that’s beneficial for what does & doesnae ail youse this weekend in Glasgow. Liene Rozite, Oliver Pitt, Firas Khnaisser & Ali Robertson will be performing a Prick Of Conscience & Off Brand quartet on Sat afternoon then Ali will be doing summat ridiculous on his lonesome at the after party on Sun eve.
