August has officially drawn to a close, and with it ends our August Tiva Fic Challenge! You guys gave us some really great stuff this month—we have our fingers crossed that you will all keep up this gorgeous enthusiasm in the month of September! Here are all of the submissions that we were notified about... if your fic was missed, please let us know so we can add it in! Also, if there are any of these that you haven’t already lost yourself in yet, please give them a read! Support our fantastic writers and appreciate all the work they put in this month! 1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?

LMAO I was today years old. No, but seriously, it was 6 months ago, so 21yo hahaha as you can see, i have no experience in it lmaooo what a scam.

4) What is your favourite genre to write for?

FIX-IT FICSSSSSSSS with all the behind the scenes and things we missed. (is that a genre? I write romance and have a mystery WIP one haha that’s it.)

18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

I DO. I was going to do a series about important tiva interactions in both POVs and how they correlate (for eg. what were their thoughts in Kill Ari, Jet Lag, Berlin, PPF and so on, but it got too complicated and I ended up abandoning it). THANK GOD THE MORE THAN AMAZING @hundan is fulfilling my dreams :’)

22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?

Probably every story ever haha there are some in particular i really don’t like and can’t reread - to be fair it’s really uncommon for me to reread my own fics - but the older ones are sure cringe-worthy.

Fandoms: NCIS

Tropes: I have a thing for AUs (so many AU ideas, you have no idea). Hurt/comfort, even though I hardly ever wrote it, definitely wrote humor more. There’s only one bed. Fake relationship! Friends/Enemies to lovers...the slow burn...the pining...the unrequited love (or so they think). I just love coming up with different ideas of how they can come together, or at least make a step in the right direction (it was a little disheartening when I realized about a year ago that that was literally all I wrote, over and over again, ad nauseum).

Number of fics: 46 + 2 30-day challenges. Most of them are just ficlets, probably less than a thousand words. There may be a few more here on tumblr.

Fic I spent the most time on: I don’t really remember, probably one of the smut fics. I’m not good at writing smut so it takes forever, the one I’ve spent the most time on hasn’t even been finished (seriously giving up on that one, no matter how much I loved the idea)

Fic I spent the least time on: They were all written so long ago, and I don’t recognize over half of the titles...I assume one of the 30-day-challenge fics, they were all very short...I’m gonna go with “Iced“.

Longest Fic: “A Helping Hand” at 16,928 words, I lack the skill and patience to write long fics.

Shortest Fic: According to A03 “Thirty Seconds Sun Bath” at 319 words.

Favorite fic I wrote: Hmm, I don’t exactly like my fics so that’s tough. Thinking of the beginning dialogue of Blizzard, or whatever it’s called, still cracks me up, though.

Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: There are two, actually, neither are going to happen, though.

“In Which Tony’s Life Finally Turns Into a Movie … a B-movie“ I came up with several ideas to continue that crack fic idea and found them all hilarious--they probably weren’t (two weeks ago I even came up with and idea that would, vaguely, explain their behavior--thank you pandemic).

"The Garden at the End of the Street“ I don’t know, there’s something about that ficlet that intrigues me, it feels different than anything else I’ve written and it had potential, but I don’t even want to read it again because I’ll just end up nitpicking it to death as usual.

Share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on: Don’t want to look at my WIPs, but, I came up with a quarantine fic idea--yeah I know, originality is not my strong suit--where Gibbs sends Tony and Ziva to an aircraft carrier to arrest someone for something (honestly, who cares), the ship has already been hit by the virus so Ziva tries to convince Gibbs not to send Tony (without saying she’s worried, obviously), but he won’t budge, anyways, bad guy ends up spitting her in the face during a fight, she’s in intensive care a few weeks later, drawn out feelings of despair, you know the spiel...

i think my least favourite tiva moment is the fact that ziva supposedly didn’t tell tony about his daughter. there is no way in hell ziva david would keep tony’s daughter from him. never. so that really pissed me off. the only thing i would accept, and honestly it seems plausible given the obvious threat with her house being attacked and tali ending up going to tony and all the obvious hints dropped by ziva (the photo, the fact that her scarf was in the bag and smelled like her and not a fire, etc.) is that there was a threat and she couldn’t tell tony as it would risk their lives. but LETS BE REAL they reunited in paris and are now finally getting their happy ending.

as for favourites, i have so many. things like “do you ever think about soulmates?”, when tony brought the opera to her, “aht lo levad”, them dancing in berlin & ziva remembering eli saying “one day you will dance with a man who deserves your love” all stand out to me as some of the moments i truly love and i am so grateful we got. however, i think an all time favourite has to be the ever so iconic lines in truth or consequences;

“tony, why are you here?”

“couldn’t live without you, i guess”

LIKE! HOME BOY WAS ON TRUTH SERUM! IT WASN’T A LIE! HE REALLY CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT HER! and i feel like this was proven even more when ziva ‘died’ (#zivasnotdead2k18) in 13x24 and tony had his little breakdown in the squad room (here’s a little reminder incase anyone forgot lmao).

“Which broke your heart more: Emily arc or William arc?”

Okay so i’ve thought about this a lot. The William arc broke my heart more for several reasons. 

1. We only met Emily for one episode. We had very little time with her, not nearly enough time to form a bond. Yes, her arc was heartbreaking and yes I do wish she survived, but by the next episode Scully and Mulder had moved on and so did the story. They never forgot her and I won’t either, but we never had the opportunity to form any kind of connection with her. 

2. The William arc happened during a really sore spot. Mulder had just vanished and there was a giant manhunt for him. The writers really played on that whole emotional vulnerability in the audience. Adding Scully being pregnant with Mulder’s baby just after he disappears really hurt and though Mulder/David leaving the show was probably not in the writer’s original plan, they sure used it to their advantage. 

3. We got to see Scully forming a bond with him before he was born and after, during his first year of life for almost two full seasons. Unlike Emily, we were able to form a bond with him and seeing Scully being a mother to him. Tearing him away from both the audience and Scully after she wanted him for so long and after Mulder’s abduction and then disappearing act was like a punch in the gut. 

4. Scully willingly gave him up to give him a better life, to make sure he was able to live a life away from their craziness. Whereas with Emily, they knew she was sick and likely wouldn’t make it and I like to think that Scully was able to make her peace with it. With William, she always regretted giving him up and showed it.
