Why’d it take so long?

Short version: Hellworld 2020-2022

Long version: moved states twice in the last 2 years during a global ongoing pandemic and it was slightly more important to keep a roof over my head and food in my cat’s belly so priorities shifted a bit

Cleaning up my files (god i need to organize these better) and came across this. If ever you wanted some insight into how I choose fonts for any given project, this is a small piece of the process and closer to the end. First drafts involve dozens of fonts, grouping them up, and then narrowing them down one by one until I have a handful to choose from.

I told you there'd be a reason you needed to see that couch arm in the future

(hahahahaha if you think that floor is going to be drawn consistently you don't know me well enough)

I think every child who is even barely technologically  knowledgeable has had this conversation 932,108 times in their lives

Changed text size and leading room. Turns out that wasn’t helping with the space issues. I may go back to fix some things but not right now (I don’t want to keep changing things that takes time from going forward, you know?)

Enjoy the perspective because it’s sloppy AF and who knows how long this’ll last!

Fuck it, ya’ll get a sneak peek at the first page of the next Gianthology story because I’m actually kinda proud of this shot since I’m rusty as fuck with perspective and this came out alright.

First pic - initial sketch of the layout, figuring out where I want to angle the scene and place the important pieces. I know perspective can be intimidating so when I say “sketch it out first” I want ya’ll to remember it doesn’t have to be right on the first try, and that even doing “sloppy” perspective like this will help

Second pic - corrected layout with a vanishing point, things change including the desk

Last pic - final lines, things moved (it’s important to be able to recognize that couch arm for a later shot) but overall lining up as they should
