Apologies in advance because I do view these two as somewhat found family.

It took a lot of restraint not to go full red thread corkboard about this one we have one drawing of these two together.

I'm a bit cagey about this hc because it's kind of half baked and I'm still working on it [right now it's in crock pot theory territory and i'm trying to reign it in hehe], plus I'm awaiting Vine Staff's new dialog with baited breath.

But essentially I view them as a mentor & student sort of situation. The best way I can describe them is as found family, moreso cousins but I've likened it to siblings as well. Vine Staff I can see helping Ghostdeeri around the library while she works, also bringing stories in for her to record. Ghostdeeri also perhaps has interest in documenting Vine Staff's curse and possibly the circumstances of her and Shuriken's spawning.

As for how they met it was probably the Broker or happening to stumble upon each other. Or some other mutual connection. Working with Ghostdeeri for now is only a sort of side thing, she still has a job and family but they got close quite fast.
