Here is a list of some must sees from weekend 1 at Coachella.
Stockholm Bound
Here at Vamos we have been working happily over the past month with two groups from the Swedish-based Hyper Island School. Students from Karlskrona and Stockholm each received different briefs to help tackle upcoming challenges for Vamos & Friends. Â We are ecstatic about helping these future lords of business, giving them guidance, and allowing their creativity run free. I will be flying up to Sweden to meet with the group from Stockholm in person as they present the final client pitch.
I cannot tell you how excited I am about heading to this beautiful city. Obviously, the first thing I did was check out Vamos to see what type of events I could fit into my already tight schedule. Â I think I found some really good ones that fit my love of style and adventure.
Thursday is all about the style with StyleinÂŽs showroom/shop Spring Opening show from 16:00 to 19:00 this Thursday, HĂKENS GATA 5. Johanna N & Marc UĂ vernissage @ WOS Accessoarer, Hornsgatan 98, jumped out at me due to my love of sunglasses and interacting with people. Â The location seems to be unique and should be a nice walk through between 17:00 and 20:00. Â I plan on Finishing off the night with a bit of dancing @PLEASANT to try and get a taste of the Swedish nightlife . The party starts at around 22:00 and with Laura Bacaj and Klara Nov KLARA NOV spinning into the night.
With Friday being packed with meetings, I can only afford one event in the evening, and I think I got the right one picked out Gallery 2.35:1 presenting Robag Wruhme & Axel Boman @Berns starting at 23:00. This event is sure to have a great atmosphere to finish off the trip.
My bags are packed I am ready to goâŠâŠ Stockholm here I come.

Interview with Mike Betts, AKQA
Hello Mike Betts, Product Strategy Director of AKQA Berlin and jury member of Mobile Challenge by Berghs and Monterosa. First, a quick question about Berghs; have you had any encounters or experiences working with Berghs or Berghs students before?
Yes, we had an ex-Berghs student in our London Strategy team, David Prentell. He and Luis often worked closely together, and I worked with them on a couple of projects. We used to call them "the boys from the future"!
You were one of five jury members in Mobile Challenge 2013. What is your general opinion of the presentations by the students that you saw?Â
I was amazed and impressed by the overall standard of work. Especially what the teams managed to turn around in a very short space of time. With one exception, the presentations all had achieved a very high visual standard, and some were exceptional. The team's recommendations for product development were very good, though not everyone fully addressed the revenue-generation and marketing programme. These points are very important, as it's much easier for clients to buy into the core idea if they can see how it can be rolled out and supported.
Was it a hard decision to chose the winners of Mobile Challenge?
Not really. The winners, and the group that had an honourable mention, both really stood out. The winners for their innovation and re-invention of a popular medium (Posters 2.0), and the other group for their overall holistic vision (Moods and Groups) â which did include revenue-generation and marketing activity. So in fact choosing the winners was easy.
What did you like about the winning team's idea?
I think the winning team had the boldest vision, and that's what really appealed to the client (Vamos). The best ideas often seem obvious when they're articulated - "mobile can re-invent the event poster with rich media" - but getting that single-minded focus, in a way that really adds value to all stakeholders (event-goers and event-organisers) is not as easy as it looks. So the winning team really deserved to win â and their idea would stand up in a real-world, competitive agency pitch. So congratulations again! I'm sure all the participants are on track to a bright future, and hopefully we'll see some of them back in Berlin again.Â

Halvlek i Mobile Challenge 13
All work and no play makes IC-studenterna⊠ungefÀr likadana som vanligt.
Men mĂ„nga sitter kvar.
Diego Fria, grupp 1:Â "Our idea evolved from all different kinds of thoughts. Weâve been very focused on the business side of the brief. Weâre three creative strategists and it really shows! Right now weâre trying to wrap up the presentation and make it really clear. We want to get some sleep before tomorrow as well, itâs important for us!"
Solen börjar gÄ ner men studenterna hÄller Ängan uppe!
