We are lucky this month we have two very influential people in digital media right now, Nora_Vanessa Wohlert and Susan Hoffmann, as our Brand Ambassadors. They sat down with Vamos really quickly and talked over what big things have been keeping them so busy and what is coming up next. 

- So lets get started What are your names and where are you from?

Nora-Vanessa Wohlert and Susann Hoffmann. We're both in Berlin for over ten years now. But Nora is originally from Hannover and Susann from Halle.

- and what do you do?

Susann: We are the founders of EDITION F. As founders, of course, tasks are not limited – there's always new stuff popping up. Always new adventures and challenges to take. But generally, Nora is responsible for content, community and hr and Susann for marketing, communications and sales. When it comes to product development, we are both so passionate about EDITION F, our heads are filled with ideas and features, that we're doing this together – as well as with the team. And of course, always listening to our community and their feedback. Because what we want to do is create a digital home for strong women – and their friends so, really understanding what it is they want and need is essential for us.

- What is EditionF?

Nora:EDITION F is the digital home for women who want more from their career and personal life. We want to be a daily source of inspiration with the articles in the online magazine, the career opportunities in the job board, the contacts in our community and the beautiful things in our shop. We offer everything women need to create the career their want.

-What are your favorite types of events to go to?

Nora:Networking is not just a buzz word in the business world. And when the atmosphere is great, there are interesting people, networking can be really fun. Privately, we enjoy going to concerts – from a small club gig to the big bang Beyoncé thing. But we also enjoy cool dinner nights with friends which tend to transform later on into a night with drinks and dancing.

 - What makes a great event for you?

Susann:The most important thing is that the guests feel, that the host genuinely wants to create an event that is welcoming. But of course, the people who participate should ideally bring a positive energy. And with good music and little ideas – from decoration to a surprise act etc. – an event can really make a difference.

- What are your favorite venues in Berlin?

Susann: I guess, it depends on the event. Prince Charles is a great club. But then the former US Base at Teufelsberg is also great in Summer. The beautiful thing about Berlin is, that every day you have the chance to find a new place that offers what you are looking for: whether a small bar, a great restaurant, a 'hipster' food market, or clubs.

 - Where do you like to travel to?

Susann: I love cities. And I love nature. The ideal spot is Cape Town – an amazing city with the ocean in front and the mountain in the back. Perfect. But since we started EDITION F, there hasn't been time for a longer vacation so a weekend trip to the Baltic or Zurich with some hiking in the Alps sound also pretty lovely.

Nora: Italy. For sure.

- What do you have coming up?

We are launching two new things to make EDITION F even more engaging and individual for our community. We are launching a Daily Edition which presents the most relevant and interesting content, jobs, companies, products and news in a curated way. And the second thing is the "Write" option. Since the launch, many users asked us if they could write for us, share their expertise, their ideas or opinion – and now we are launching a template to give users the chance to write and publish their articles on EDITION F, share them via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or Xing and become a writer on EDITION F.

You see, we really want to be a place where users are part of the product and don't just consume but participate and are involved. That is why we are also launching a Crowdinvesting campaign on Companisto on 27 November 2014. (www.companisto.com/editionf) We want to create a product for the community and therefore want to invite them to be part of the company as well. EDITION F is a community idea – and we need the support of our users – until now this support came as feedback letters, facebook messages, tweets and all – and now users can actively become a part of EDITION F by investing in it. We are super excited about this and hope our users are as well.

We had a chance to sit down with Eluize, September´s Vamos Brand Ambassador, as she preps to launch her new EP, October 6th with Exotic Refreshment, to talk over music, Berlin and everything she has coming up next. It all began with a meet up at Spreewaldplatz in Kreuzberg to get acquainted before heading out to grab a cup of coffee. We biked over to one of her favorite coffee shops Baretto, I was reminded of how many places i have still yet to see in this big city.

- So what is your name and where are you from?

My name is Eluize, I’m from Adelaide in South Australia

- and what do you do?

I do music. I’m a producer, DJ, vocalist and promoter.

- What makes a great event for you?

The perfect event is a great experience as a whole, no matter what you’re into. It’s the feeling you get when you wake up in the morning, possibly slightly battered from all the enjoyment from the day or night before, with a warm heart and smile on your face knowing you shared a really good time. For me it’s always a dance party or a live gig.

Firstly, I think it takes a great vision from the promoter to line up all the elements, the music, the space, the guests and staff that are going to enjoy the vibe they’ve created. Every interaction you have should add to the experience. Things like the sound system, music volume, lighting, interior design, temperature, drinks, amenities, safety, the right amount of people for the space, location, transport, all affect your feeling.

You want people that share the same passion to come together and have a good time as one. For all the pieces to fit together to create a seamless mood. It can be so therapeutic, to forget your worries and dance in a crowd of people you feel connected to by some mutual appreciation.

- What are your favorite venues in Berlin?

This city is incredible for places to go out. Where I end up depends on who’s playing and who’s party it is, I always check the line ups, but these are my staples:

Panorama Bar and Berghain, the caliber of artists they book there every week is incredible.

I love Farbfernseher for a cosy rave cave, great music and always an awesome vibe. Their garden on 1st of May is a must for me.

://aboutblank is also a favorite, they do some really excellent parties there and I love the garden on a Sunday afternoon.

Stattbad Wedding is a proper space, the cement, big sound and red lighting leave you with no doubt you’re at a serious party.

Watergate is an awesome place to DJ, and visually spectacular, watching the sun come up with ubahn going over the bridge is something really special.

Getting lost in the labyrinth that is Salon Zur Wilden Renate is always a trip.

Chalet Garden, Kosmonaut and Club Der Visionaire for other outdoor options when the sun is shining.

John Muir for a cheeky mid week wine or monday evening post weekend debrief.

 - Where do you like to travel to?

I love to travel all over, I’m totally addicted to it, it’s such an amazing way to learn about yourself and others and to be inspired. It’s hard to pick the next place because there’s just so much to experience.

I’m getting to see a lot more of Europe now that I’m based out of Berlin. I’d really like to explore more of Eastern Europe. On the warmer tip, I’ve never been to Portugal, Morocco or South America, they’re all high on the list. I’m heading to Lyon and Istanbul in the next month, both I’m excited about. I also love Asia, the cuisine and the culture is just so varied and amazing, right now I’m trying to arrange a trip back to Japan.

 - What do you have coming up?

September 10 is my next party at Farbfernseher, we have Urulu, Gratts, Mculo & yours truly on selection duties. It’s a super nice Wednesday night session, with good friends and good house music.

Next month I’m heading to ADE, and then back to Australia for a tour via Dubai in November.

Getvamos.com is kicking off our Ambassador Program with a couple of Berliners that are taking the summer in Berlin to a new level. Alexander Katz and Felix Riederer von Paar of SchleckDruff.

First off...What are your names? Where are you from? And what do you do?

ALEX: My name is Alex and I'm originally from Berlin. After having studied abroad I got to work in the start up scene and eventually started my own business together with Felix: Making the world a better place with frozen drinks as popsicles ;-)

FELIX: Hi my name is Felix,  I'm 26 years old and i was born near Passau in Bavaria. For 2 two years i have been living in Berlin and working as a marketing manager for a fin-tech company located in Berlin. I'm also one of the Founders of SchleckDruff.

Tell us a little about SchleckDruff?

ALEX: SchleckDruff has the claim to be a real frozen drink on a stick without any compromises. Comparable to a real drink, not to a usual popsicle as we used to know. We mainly target events with connection to music where we think this product is made for! The idea for SchleckDruff was born by pure chance and after we have found, that there is no serious product in this market that could serve our needs (as responsibly drinking dudes), we just did it!

FELIX: With SchleckDruff we wanted to translate our favorite drinks into popsicles. After 6 month of developing our first two products (Gin&Tonic, Moscow Mule) we finally had boozicles containing 11,5% Vol. Alc, The idea came uo, after we realized that such a product would be perfect for parties which happen during the day.

Okay that sounds nice, where can I find it?

ALEX: Right now, you can order it directly from us via mail, or buy it regularly at Amano rooftop or "Bis Späti" at Oderberger Straße. Also, we are more and more present on festivals. Just check out our social media channels for the latest updates! In the future, we will of course be available be at numerous bars, clubs and stores (mainly Spätis), but for now the distribution is rather exclusive.

FELIX: Because we have just started distributing our frozen drinks, we are selling our products on openairs, festivals, bars or nightclubs in and around berlin. We are also able to send our products to locations all over germany. Since last week you can buy SchleckDruff at "Bis Späti", a shop in oderbergerstr next to the Mauerpark.

What makes a good event for you?

ALEX: The right people, no pressure and , last but not least, a good venue (and, OF COURSE, depending on the event, MUSIC!!!). I think, many events nowadays are highly organized and try heavily to provide the guest with an unforgettable experience. I appreciate that, but honestly, the best events I know are those, where you can't really tell why they catch you so much. The are simply down-to-earth and make you feel good. This ranges from dinner parties and birthdays to clubbing and festivals.

FELIX: For me a good event is when you have this "WOW" effect. If everything is well organised and you dont have to take care about anything. I love open airs and festivals, because it is always an escape from the normal day to day business.

What are your top 3 venues in Berlin?

ALEX:

KaterBlau (haven't been there yet, BUT, from my personal experiences in its predecessor Kater Holzig, I have to inclide it anyway!

Wilde Renate (very special and incomparable to other clubs)

Club der Visionäre (one of the most chilled spots ever and if you are into high-quality electronic music you are overwhelmed by the line up form time to time!)
