Some things to know how to do with and pertaining to your/any car:
These are some things that I can think of off the top of my head that I think might be/are important to try and remember to do.
How to change windshield wipers
I didn’t for a long time but I also have never personally changed mine
How to change your headlights
How to change your battery
How to change a car tire AND what type/size your car uses
Some cars take bigger tires or smaller tires than you think! And if you live in a state or area that has a SHIT ton of snow in the winter.
BUY. NEW. TIRES.
Or at least two. For example, I have a rear wheel vehicle, I had brand new winter tires for my back two tires so I have traction. Better than nothing or bald tires, and lighter on your wallet.
Change and check the oil
Install a baby seat properly (even if you don’t have a kid this is important and can make you look heckin cool and smarts)
Know when to hand over the keys if you’re under the influence or extremely tired
Yes, when you’re tired, it’s not safe in the least bit. Regardless of how tough you are, how much you can convince yourself you’re fine and be able to drive, DONT. If you’re driving long distance and have money to rent a hotel or motel do it!
Or if you literally have no money, or no money to spare, and you’re worried and afraid someone will try to kill/rob/carjack/kidnap you wile you’re sleeping then perhaps go somewhere where there’s people. Take a nap in your car during the day in maybe a target parking lot. Take note, this won’t guarantee nothing will happen, but no one typically wants to commit crime in an area with a bunch of witnesses during the day.
Keep your air in your tires around where they’re supposed to be.
If you don’t you can pop and blow a tire, causing a helluva lot of damage and $$$$$. Spending like $5 at a gas station or somewhere to fill your tires is a lot less than paying for a tow truck, a new tire, possibly new rim, and anything else that could be ruined.
