In 1953, Swanson overestimated the number of frozen turkeys that it would sell on Thanksgiving by 260 tons. One of the company's salesman, Gerry Thomas, decided to slice up the extra meat and repackage it--creating the first ever TV dinner. – WTF Fun Facts

C.A. Swanson & Sons introduced the first TV dinner in 1954. It originally sold for 98 cents, in a package with a picture of a TV set with knobs. The first TV dinners took about 25 minutes to cook or reheat.
Gerry Thomas, the inventor of the TV dinner, was working for Swanson & Sons in Omaha, Nebraska. They had tons of frozen turkeys they couldn't sell. Thomas came up with the idea of a meal featuring turkey frozen in a ready-to-heat aluminum tray.
Thomas, as the story goes, dreamed up this idea when he was traveling. He was a salesman. He saw the trays from Pan Am, international flights. They had just recently developed a dining tray for the long flights, which made him think of eating rations back on the battlefield in World War II. Eating a small meal like that was difficult because the stuff all got mixed together, and he saw the little compartments on the trays.
Before the TV dinner, families used to sit around a dinner table eating meals that took Mom hours to produce. Almost immediately, Patrick Kiger says, Gerry Thomas was blamed for changing that. He went through a period where he was getting a lot of hate mail from men basically because they said that TV dinners were ruining family life. Men said they would divorce their wives if they served TV dinners. They wanted them to fix their meals from scratch.Â
Back then, the frozen aisle might have consisted of a shelf or two in one remote corner of the supermarket. Now, of course, frozen food is recognized as an innovation that has helped minimize many an American's time in the kitchen. The TV dinner changed American culture so much that the original package is now in the Smithsonian. [www.npr.org]

We never really saw Robron hanging out that much at the cafe (at least compared to other places)
So what if the reason Aarons basically taken up residence there is because everywhere else brings up memories of Robert
And while we’re on families, your mum was a complete slapper! Yeah. I watched her seduce my dad after she finished with yours.
