Although we agree with some of this, we disagree with people thinking they have a thyroid problem when their temperature is low or labs are off. Most of the time the thyroid is fine and it is the metabolic pathways that are faulty from poor blood sugar regulation. #eastwesthealing #charlespoliquin #brodabarnes #germanbodycomp #bodytempandpulse #thyroidcoach #hypothyroidism
Who needs a #preworkout? The pump is real- training on an empty stomach and replacing meals or preworkout supplement with black coffee does wonders for your mental clarity and focus. (If your used to caffeine, try cycling off- you'd be surprised!) ☕️☕️ So, another thing if really like to highlight is an update on how I'm progressing- this is a godawful angle and incredibly unflattering BUT there's a reason for that; 1.) I'm still subject to #stretchmarks on my abdomen. Personally, they don't bother me anymore- but as I have dry skin it's lacking in elasticity and I still feel like I have an excess amount but only time will tighten that up (saying that- my son is over 2y/o now- so perhaps I should learn to moisturise haha!) 2.) no amount of exercise will rid these 'flaws'- they're permanent, and here to stay! I will never have that smooth, mark-free skin and instead I'm left with pregnancy stretch marks, scarring from my keyhole surgery on August and a little strange protruding ball so it looks like I have two belly buttons (wtf, right? Hehe) which showed up after my survey- apparent more scar tissue.... 3.) BUT none of these things defy my main purpose, my own personal goal, and that is not a teeny-tiny, dimple-free waist (although that would be nice- not gonna lie!). My MAIN purpose is #STRENGHT! Complete core strength- especially if I'm going to be swinging around my 14kg/92cm son when I myself am 5'1 and 47kg- he's getting heavy.... Also, if anyone feels like asking- camera's also pointing down- my ass is bigger.... Promise! (Although I could totally be lying because this in the Internet... Or not!) #gbc #fitmom #fitness #eatclean #workout #germanbodycomp #abs #womenwholift
German Body Comp Training
I include circuit training in my weekly workout and although some circuits I have been doing recently have been fantastic I have been looking for something that would include more weights. The circuits I was doing prior were primarily cardiovascular. I recently reviewed some different types of circuit and found a great one through www.bodybuilding.com. It's called German Body Comp and it has been shown to give great results.
The German Body Comp program, or GBC, is based upon the pioneering research by Hala Rambie, a Romanian exercise scientist. Rambie made the important discovery that the lactic acid pathway is better for fat loss than the commonly accepted aerobic pathway. Rambie found that high blood lactic levels decrease blood pH levels, which in turn sends a message to the brain to accelerate its production of growth hormone. Higher growth hormone levels increase fat loss. The GBC program is characterized by short rest intervals and multi-joint movements to generate maximum growth-hormone production. These are called supersets. Not only does GBC result in greater fat loss than aerobic programs can produce, but it will not sacrifice strength and muscle mass.
Results have shown to be great in reducing body fat.
I did try a leg and calf circuit last week but due to it being the first time I had to go fairly slow to find a good weight for each set. I look forward to doing this again today in hopes I can move much quicker than I did before.
Leg and calf workout:
A.
A1.10 reps leg extensions
A2.10 reps lying leg curls
Repeat 3 times and 60 second rest in between
B.
B1.15 reps squats
B2.15 reps stiff leg deadlifts
Repeat 3 times and 90 seconds rest
C.
C1.12 reps hack squat
C2.12 reps standing calf raise
Repeat 3 times and 60 seconds rest
Very excited!! I will let you know how it goes and how much weight I am able to do.
I also spoke with Crossfit and it looks like I should be starting tomorrow!!
