… This was performed in a spectacular church in the City of London called St Mary Aldermary. You can hear the coffee machine and the tinkling of spoons on china and a little of the people talking. It was a busy day in the cafe at the back... people filtered in and sat and listened.. a lovely experience. The cafe is run by www.moot.uk.net Thanks again to Johnny, Vanessa and all at the cafe for having me. There is no video with this one. I could have stopped to sort it out, however sometimes you have to let the documenting go out the window... come down next time and hear it live.. :)

All spoken word comes from Rudolf Steiner "The Wrong and Right Use of Esoteric Knowledge" published in 1917. An improvisation between Georgina Brett (vocals and loops) and Steve Moyes (Box Cello, flute and loops) at the Private view of work by Agnes Hay.. This is a collage of just the vocal work.

Ever since i heard Bobby McFerrin work with this tune i wanted to have a go. Here I have attempted to bring in some fairly deep and meaningful concepts which can quite easily/happily be missed .. It's a long piece, a meditation.. it plays with past and future, it plays with emphasis and dominant notes. It plays with the obvious and the not so obvious as well as reminding us of the beautiful tune Charles Gounod added which seems as though it must have been written at the same time as the accompaniment but wasn't. It plays with the idea of improvisation in classical music and wordless vocal sounds within a Classical style. There are SO MANY ways to make music that is lovely without following perceived rules to the letter.. This was performed in a spectacular church in the City of London called St Mary Aldermary.
