Happy Halloween month, time to share one of my fave things ever, which is Toccata and Fugue on THE HARP.

ANYWAY. I just need you to know how fucking impressive this is. Itâs. Absolutely batshit levels of skill. Both arranging the piece and playing it.
âWhatâs that thing sheâs doing with her feet?â This kind of harp is called a pedal harp. Each pedal controls all the strings for a particular noteâfor instance, one pedal controls all the F strings. Each pedal has three positionsâsharp, natural, and flat. This means that yes, itâs a PITA to play accidentals, and itâs physically impossible to play an F sharp and an F natural at the same time.
All the blue strings are Fâs. The red ones are Câs. The highest notesâ strings are nylon, the middle ones are gut (sheep intestine), the lowest are brass wire wrapped around nylon.
