Today is my jewelry line's fifth birthday! I'm dreaming of celebrating with this insane crystal cake from @cakelifebakeshop. 🎂 On one hand, I'm blown away that it's already been five years since I first picked up a torch and hammer. On the other, it feels like I've been doing this forever, because this business is an authentic extension of who I am and has become so acutely essential to my existence. On my worst days, I'm still proud of myself for all I've created in the past five years. When anxiety takes over or sadness strikes, I throw my focus toward the meticulous intricacies of, what has been for me, a life-changing craft. It allows me to express my deep-rooted love of literature, witchcraft, and mythology, my tendency toward ritual, and my veneration of the seasons and the earth, all through the medium of metal and stone. I am truly grateful to do this work, and honored to receive the support each and every one of you sends my way so often. Some of you have been here since the very beginning, others for a long while, and some have just arrived. Regardless of how long you've been following my journey, I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you. I have a big, and I mean BIG, Yule giveaway coming up on the Winter Solstice (12/21). I'll pay you in stones! 💎 In all seriousness, I am feeling so much better today. I still can't bear weight that well, but the pain I feel while at rest has eased significantly and I've been at the bench working for a few hours now. The week long forced absence from creating sparked heaps of motivation and inspiration that I'm currently unleashing on fresh sheets of silver. I'll plan and announce the date of my next release as soon as possible, but for now I'm off to saw, file, sand, and solder the day away.
