BREAKTHROUGH! I'M ON A HIGH! This little stinker just fell asleep on his own for the very FIRST TIME! 🍼🎉🍼🎉🍼🎉 Bath, coconut oil massage in a dimly lit room, singing his sunshine song, a bottle in bed and more singing....and Riveroo turned himself on his tummy, snuggled his momo, EXHALED and shut his eyes peacefully! If he doesn't do this again for weeks I'm still the happiest mummy in the world. I am so pleased we stuck to our guns and tried the gentle methods only, no crying, no "tough love" just consistent sleep cues and GOOD DAY NAPS thanks to a very patient Daddy @fabsyfab THIS. IS. THE. Here's something I've learned as a mama - parenting and everything sleep related, is a lesson in the importance of listening to your intuition. River hit 5 months and suddenly he decided he would now like to only sleep ON me. I've read a lot about different methods of harsh, vs super gentle methods of so-called sleep training and 'night weaning' and all I can say is that...having a strict routine can work, but...rigid things break more easily.
