Sagging middle syndrome -- the bane of many writers' existence. But I found that this tip has helped me a lot to figure out the direction of my WIP. It was something that I had to figure out for myself but has proven useful to my novel-writing endeavors.
What has helped you to combat sagging middle syndrome?

At the moment, I'm currently sporadic with when creativity hits and when I have time to write. However, I do notice that I do get creative and prefer to write at night. I get too distracted to write during the day and the kids in the apartment are really noisy during the day. Also, the short story that I'm currently writing has been written at nighttime. Literally stayed up till 5 AM writing it. Lol!

Here is a quote from one of the characters of FBD, Aanya Singh. Aanya is Vivian's best friend, a psychic, empath, Libra, shop owner, and a pure soul. She looks at the good, forgets the bad, and sees things through rose-colored lenses. She is one of my favorite characters in the series.

Past tense or present tense? I prefer to read and write in the past tense. It just feels more natural to me as I find the present tense to be jarring. Back then when I first started writing my first manuscript, I kept bouncing back and forth between past and present tense not paying much attention until my creative writing professor pointed it out. Lol! I hadn't realized the inconsistency and that I needed to be consistent in my tenses. 🤭

For me, I'm revisiting my outline and in the process of creating a storyboard. What's your next step for your WIP in December?

I don't know about favorite, but the majority of my WIPs, including my current one, is told in first person, but my historical fantasy WIP is told in third person limited shifting, where I shift between two characters, but the thoughts and viewpoint each time I shift are only limited that one specific character at a time. And when it comes to reading, I like first-person and I like third-person. I'm not super picky when it comes to reading.

Good morning!!! 🌞
Character-driven or plot-driven?
For me, I prefer to read and write character-driven stories.
What about you?
