Today on 'Things Rhys Will Never Actually Write'/'TV Shows Pitched By Tumblrians': A TV show about a fifty-something Gen Xer who suddenly finds herself having to look after her sixteen-year-old Gen Z niece, who she doesn't know that well, if at all, after the girl's father, her estranged younger brother, dies in an accident. Neither one of them is happy about the situation, and have a hard time warming up to each other at first, but throughout the series, we go back and forward in time to see the aunt when she was a teenager herself back in the 1980s, and how her experiences from back then parallel that of her niece in the present, kind of like Netflix's Long Story Short and Once Upon A Time, minus the fairy tale elements from the latter, and they slowly come to realize they aren't that different after all, and gradually become closer.
It's called 'Generational Divide'.
