I’m sad the slowburn of Yaz and Chase was never fully realized. To me, they could have been T4T couple.
Something about Chase realizing Yaz has been there for him during his worst time for 4 years and Yaz also realizing how deep her feelings are for Chase.
It’s gonna be awkward and a lil’ embarassing for them because Yaz has never prioritized her dating life meanwhile Chase has been out of the dating pool for years now. There is also the added development regarding Yaz’s journey regarding her gender identity and Chase is there for Yaz in every step of the process.
Chase giving back to Yaz every word of comfort and advice Yaz has given to Chase. They could have been so much more, we could have gotten multiracial queer couple. We could have gotten Chase saying ‘my girlfriend could beat you up >:)’ or ‘that’s my boyfriend :D’ or ‘I’m going out with my partner ^^’
Meanwhile, Yaz is still processing the fact they’ve got a supportive friend group and an attentive partner with Chase. Also, they could also be in the asexual/ aromantic spectrum for me.

As someone who has watched Gen:Lock, season 1 is pretty decent for a Rooster Teeth cartoon, and it does explore the personal implications of it’s sci-fi tech better than other sci-fi animated shows I’ve recently seen. Although, I do want to warn that season 2 is a severe downgrade in quality based on what clips and other people’s reactions I’ve seen.

I was so disappointed that there was a timeskip of four years between the end of season 1 and the start of season 2. Additionally, I was sad they rolled back Chase's development of accepting and opening up to his teammate and just made him act out of character- he cursed Kazu and ask Cammie to mess with Caliban's software which goes against the late Dr. Weller's wishes. Also, Kazu was also out of character- he has pride and a streak of disobedience, why would he call himself a 'warrior' and describe his methods as honorable??

I know a lot of the fans discourage watching season 2, but I have to see what happens with Chase and Yaz, Kuzu and Val, and more confirmations that Camie is a furry.
I'm a few minutes in the season 2 and episode 1 and, immediately, I realized I'm gonna watch my favorite characters get slaughtered.
The timeskip and lack of change in character design was what made realize this.
Gen:Lock is so weird, the plot is literally the United Nations preemptively attacked the Middle East because they are scared that the Middle East will develop a weapon. As such, the United Nations are responsible for 9/11 and deserves it. However, then it hard pivots into both sides are wrong.
