hi I'm very curious if you ever made any analytics post about Voltron. I was there when it came out and man. It still haunts me.
Honestly, I treasure my sanity, so no.
Especially considering it aired around the time RWBY V5 and V6 were basically completely destroying RWBY for me.
I didn't want to multitask despair.
I remember how terrible the final seasons were, but honestly, we will never know why. Vanity? Pride? Production issues? Something terrible having happened? Who knows.
I don't think the writers have done any of the interviews where they outline why. At best, we can tell from some of their interviews that the writing team of Voltron was REALLY bad at planning things out long-term, and that their plans for the final season got cut short (and execs vetoing some of the story ideas), so they basically just put something they could call an ending. Would those original ideas or having more space to tell the story have made the final seasons better? Who knows.
At least with Genlock, we know who to blame for it and why it ended up the way it did—Rooster Teeth's incompetence, toxicity, and inability to handle finances. Even with Arcane, we know parts of the behind-the-scenes about the studio struggles and what happened to the writers.
Voltron, on the other hand, will remain one of the many "what could have possibly gone wrong to make the final season so bad" shows, like The Boys and Dragon Prince, where you just have to accept it being a disappointment.
