Light angst with happy ending
Laurenceās lips were chapped, very chapped. Garroth didnāt even realize he was holding the otherās hips, pulling him impossibly closer. When their lips parted both of them let out a laugh.
āIāve wanted to kiss you since I got back from the Netherā¦ā Laurence smiled bright, his dull eyes not fully meeting Garrothās. āYou have?ā He teased, his smile visible through his tone of voice.
The head guardās original task of rebandaging the Shadow Knightās wounds was long forgotten. The two had talked about what had happened while Laurence was gone. As the conversation continued they seemed to realize things about each other. That missing the other that much wasnāt just platonic.
āMhm, I wish I could see your face.ā Laurence brought his hands up to feel Garrothās face trying to envision it. One hand traveled to his hair and the other brushed against his lip. Garroth placed a soft kiss on his thumb enjoying the expression he got as he continued to map out his face.
It was peaceful, it was kind. Garroth felt his worries getting farther away. No guarding, no arranged marriage, no Zaneā¦
āZane.ā His heart stopped. How could he be so stupid? Panic quickly set in, if word ever got back to Zane about his feelings for Laurence⦠he didnāt even want to imagine what the High Priest would do to him.
āLaurence.ā
āYouāre breathing so heavilyā¦ā He began to lean in again, cupping his cheek. Garroth grabbed his hand pulling it away from him.
āTheyāll hang you.ā
Laurence froze before shaking his head. āIāve already died once, Garroth, Iām not scared of Zane.ā
āYou should be. He could do worse than kill you.ā
āI was tortured in another dimension, turned into a monster, and lost my eyesight. There is nothing worse he can put me through.ā
Garroth tried to push back the panic, but the thought was already put into his mind. He canāt put anyone else through the hell that is the High Priest of Oākhasis.
āGarroth. I can feel you panicking, you need to calm down. Nothing is going to happen to me.ā Garrothās hands began to shake on Laurenceās hips, gripping them tighter. Zane has hurt so many people, he couldnāt let the person he cares so deeply about be next. He felt like he was going to be sick, breathing was getting increasingly hard. Why did being around him have to be dangerous?
āNo, no, you arenāt listening Laurence!ā
āGarroth!ā Laurence raised his voice causing Garroth to jump but it briefly freed him from his panic. āBreath, no one here would tell him.ā
Garroth took a couple deep breaths, releasing the air that he didnāt know he was holding. Laurence slowly brought his hand back up to his face, caressing his cheek making Garroth to lean into it.
āThere you go. Put him out of your head right now. Just relax.ā Laurence had a voice that was sweet and calming to the ears. Garroth let out a content sigh before his eyes drifted to the bandages.
āIrene! I canāt believe youāre hurt and comforting me! Sit down and let me finish bandaging you!ā
Laurence chuckled, biting back a comment to argue that he didnāt mind. He took a step backwards until his legs hit his bed and let himself fall back into it. āIf Iām good, will you give me another kiss?ā Laurence smirked as he heard Garroth stutter out a response.
He did get another kiss.
