Why Do We Exist

At least, he seemed like a man. His right side was completely normal, unless it being extremely muscular was cause for a change of classification. His left side on the other hand, was heavily scarred, bumps and boils surrounding a whited out eye. He seemed to have an extra mouth growing along and above his cheekbone, teeth protruding out at odd angles. He even had gill-looking pieces of skin growing out of his neck, though Grace couldn’t imagine why he may need them. His left arm may have been the strangest, despite initially looking normal, in its size and shape, slight inspection would make one realize that it was in fact made up of many root-like structures, all bending and twisting together to function as an arm. Had the situation not been so dire, Grace would have loved to investigate how his body worked, perhaps even get some scar tissue from his face to see if it was some kind of disease or even an entirely non-human growth.
