Mentally unstable Reader
★ You were always a little bit crazy. But now, you like to think you're a different flavor of crazy. Your instability isn’t loud. Not all the time. Usually, the day is spent in between thoughts. Spacing out while humming a melody that loops.
★ But that was before things got bad. The first person to notice was Gangle. Taking a peek into your sketchbook, left inside the pillow fort. Only to see strange symbols she couldn't tell the meaning of. Frantic strokes messily strewn about the pages.
★ She never told the others. She didn't know how. And this mentality was carried as everyone else began to notice. Growing concerned with your increasingly erratic behavior. But no one knew how to help.
★ According to you, you sleep with your eyes open. Though this has yet to be confirmed. Whenever Jax sneaks into your room, you're not there. Probably curled up somewhere else. Really, nobody’s sure if you sleep at all. Not even you!
★ Speaking of Jax, he's slightly nicer to you than he is to the others. Like how he treats Kinger. But if anybody asks, he shrugs casually and says, "Messing with them would be too easy."
★ You refer to your repetitive thoughts as "visitors." Some are welcome. Allowed to come and go as they please. Others aren't. Those ones, you try to lock out. Nailing the door shut. But they climb in through the window.
★ Ragatha flinches when you laugh during serious moments. The timing catches her off guard. But this doesn’t stop her from being your number one advocate. Defending you from the worst of this world.
★ And of course, Caine feeds into your delusions. Making the room stretch in front of you and constantly adding a stalker character to adventures. He gave it a name, too! It's the shadow man! Don't worry. He doesn't want to kill you. He just wants to watch you sleep.

If I could change one thing about episode 4 is I’d make Gangle a little more “annoying.”
By which I mean, more confident, more bossy, and more impulsive.
And actually have more implications/confirmation gangle has bi-polar? And maybe seeing how she might harm others/herself? Like I love my girl, but I wish we could see more of her manic/hypomanic self? If Gangle were bi-polar, she wouldn’t have any medicine for her take. So that means her episodes are gonna be more extreme, at least I think thats how it works?
And confirm she’s suicidal, make her INTENTIONALLY jump in front of the truck while wearing the manic mask, because during a manic episode you’re more impulsive
I wish we could see the other characters flaws more. OUTSIDE of jax.

Jax - She/him. Could see this both ways. Jax who was AFAB but transitioned, and then rejected any and all femininity, even if it hurts him deep inside. Probably didn't know that bigender/multigender was an option. Has to unlearn a lot of internalized misogyny and embrace both parts of her gender. Or maybe AMAB Jax who knows he's definitely a boy so he can't possibly be a girl too, despite some mild dysphoria and a bit of jealousy at how feminine Ragatha is. But that's silly. He's a guy! Maybe once she transitions, she feels this sort of loss. Like she's sacrificing one gender for the other. Like he's always done. Maybe Zooble teaches her otherwise, the whole "any pronouns" thing. Maybe not and Jax suffers. like he/she always does.

Pomni - also she/him. I feel like he would be open to trying new pronouns/identities but feels like this matches him the most (currently). Very comfortable being in a suit and a dress and slaying in both. Feels both genders at the same time. Probably the meme about "a lot of queer stuff to work out but also too busy with the 9 to 5 so they're putting it on the shelf/working on it later". Just chill. Reason for this is because Pomni is my favorite so she shall be headcanoned to this too.
Ragatha - She/him as well. Like always liked boyish stuff, but was reprimanded by her mother. Her friends at the time (if she had any) would call her a tomboy, but that doesn't sit right with her. She likes dresses, and she likes looking pretty, and she likes making her momma happy, so she sort of internalizes/compartmentalizes all the negative feelings. When, she learns about trans-ness, she gives it a try. He likes it. A lot. Like why hadn't he tried this before. Loves it, but also still identifies with her old identity. Bigender but in a "woah being masc is so cool and i identify with it but also being femme brought me so much joy and i don't want to leave that part behind either".
Caine - He/it. I don't really know why. It's just how i feel he would be. Maybe he/she/it, but mostly he/it, except on certain days. So some fluidity. Caine in a dress yippee. Caine in a suit yippee. Caine as a transparent png yippeeeeee.
Zooble - Agender. Zooble's gender is "Zooble". Fine with any pronouns/neopronouns, but feels best in like an agender way. Maybe also genderflux? Like some days, Zooble likes being called he/him, others Zooble likes they/them. And she/her on special occasions. Xe/xem when feeling cool and epic. But mostly just. Zooble. Zooble is Zooble no matter what.
Gangle - She/her or She/they or She/it. Predominantly she/her but at times feels very genderflux. Demigirl Gangle is such a cutieeeeeeee.
Kinger - He/him but doesn't mind crossdressing. Very secure in his masculinity.

Give it up for our darling as I go through headcanons that’ll hopefully add more to her and maybe you could use in fanart or works! Anything! Go nuts guys! As stated before, Zoey is her human self and Gangle is the present so…get ready. I think you’ll be interested in this take.)
- Zoey’s home life consists of living with her divorced dad, who had taken it upon himself to take full custody of her after her mom left them.
- But despite that, Zoey’s dad raised her really well and he worked very hard to support him and Zoey (which inspired her to work really hard in life, school, and so on!)
- Zoey loves her dad, considering him the most patient, wise, and thoughtful person in her life who treated her like a person (he even supported her dreams to become a web designer).
- On the off chance they go treat themselves with the money he earned is by going out to eat, playing miniature golf, and going to the gun range (fence, Zoey found a fascination for the Thompson Submachine gun)
- Zoey did excellent in school, getting really good grades with perfect scores in English classes in highschool (anyone who’s read books like The Odyssey, Scarlet Letter, and so on know the idea), with her strongest suit being art.
- Because she had exceptional artistic talent, she was called upon to help do murals along the school, face painting during school events, and generally just being asked for art advice.
- While this did result in some ridicule from people envious of the attention she was getting, even teasing and bullying, that didn’t stop Zoey from doing what she loved in the hopes of making her own art for the world.
- Zoey’s hard working ethic drove her up the ranks to become a manager at a fast food chain during college, which although some people found annoying, some appreciated her leadership skills and confidence.
- However, during her college days, Zoey had attempted to submit her web-comics and manga through an online forum in the hopes of igniting some passion, she was met with little to no attention no matter how much she tried.
- Her work in college wasn’t doing that well either given the heavy expectations, even losing scholarship opportunities to other people’s work, which made her drop out.
- This unfortunately lead to an argument between her and her father, who was trying so hard to push his daughter into believing herself more, and her pointing out that no one saw worth in her work so what was the point.
- However, that argument would be the last thing that was said before…well…the accident.
-BELLE’S THEORY ON THE COMEDY AND TRAGEDY MASK-
I don’t think I need to get too in depth but I want to express there’s importance behind every single thing in each character design, and Gangle is no different however simple it is.
Gangle is consisted of red ribbons and a mask, that can break into a tragedy mask from a comedy mask.
Comedy and Tragedy are very common in theatre, something that Zoey helped partake in during her school days as a backdrops artist, which carry Greek roots from the muse goddesses Thalia and Melpomene respectively.
While the masks fragility could tie to her personality, it also displays how weak her masking is. Lemme get into why.
The breaking of the mask displays how unafraid Gangle was of hiding her true emotions, her feelings, and the comedy mask is just the upfront that she holds onto until it breaks easily by something beyond her control (or if someone intentionally ruins her mood).
Which isn’t a bad thing mind you, we had Episode 4 telling us why that powerful plastic mask was even worse for Gangle’s all around psyche.
It goes to show that despite how ashamed she is of crying or feeling emotional, I think Gangle more emotionally honest and not afraid to show that. Even if she doesn’t realize it, Gangle was always someone who makes her thoughts clear and straight forward, which aligns to her household history with her father.
-ADDITIONAL GANGLE HEADCANONS-
- Gangle’s explanation of how she got there is…a mystery, even to herself. The last thing she confirms remembering was being with her dad on a car ride home, before they crashed, and Zoey ended up “waking up” in the circus.
- That, for a time, convinced her she had been transported into an anime-esc world and her biggest worry was trying to wake up to find her father.
-This leads to everyone being unable to properly understand or come up with the idea of how Gangle would’ve had a headset placed on her head if the last thing she remembered was being in a car accident.
- That mystery is what gnaws on her to this day, and without any reasoning, Gangle can only hope she wakes up in some hospital room and that her father is alive and okay.
- Aside from drawing anime in her drawing pad, Gangle still has that affinity for miniature golf and enjoys taking a swing at it whenever the adventures revolve around golf!
- In the Pets Update, Gangle would 100% get a tuxedo cat to mesh up the fur colors of characters Luna and Artemis from Sailor Moon in honor of her love for anime.
- Gangle is a great sharp shooter, but doesn’t mention it, so whenever there’s a gun involved, she ultimately does a better job at killing enemies or opponents thanks to her gun range training with her dad. (Under no circumstances be on the opposing side when she gets a Tommy Gun.)
- Gangle loves powdered sugar on her waffles and pancakes, which she considers a delicacy (and ultimately her favorite topping on desserts that go with it. Beignets, cookies, doughnuts, Mexican Wedding Cookies, you name it.)
- Gangle makes her own stories, though she keeps them to herself because she fears of the rejection or disinterest everyone else may apply onto her work like her college life.
And I think that’s all I got for now!! I absolutely love adding more things to everyone because it feels so freakin’ fun and relaxing to come up with expansive ideas that lead me to working out for my story and just for the heck of it!

Tbh I still really don't like manager/crazy Gangle, episode 4 was what made me hate her for a long while, I liked her more in episode 5
Gangle is very lovable when she's just being herself, I like when she's not on a miserable power trip lol
And this may be unpopular or controversial but I think I like tragedy mask Gangle the most, she feels the most human when there's nothing covering her face. A lot of people think that's when she's at her saddest, but I personally disagree
I think the masks are merely placebo, something she thinks she needs to be happy. But after finding happiness in Zooble and in her art, I think she'll be happiest once she realizes that she doesn't need any of the masks to be happy
Her friendship with Zooble seems to be helping her way more than any of the masks ever did, and I think that's a nice message. You'll find a lot of happiness in the relationships around you, and you'll find people who love and accept you no matter what if you're just willing to be your authentic self
What Jax said, "I like you better when you're sad", was pretty harsh, but I do sort of agree with him. I don't personally think he meant, "I like you better when you're weak and helpless", I think he meant "I like you better when you're not on this weird and miserable power trip"
But because he was so exhausted and annoyed, his words came out in the rudest way possible, which is... very relatable. I tend to say things in a hyperbolic or rude way whenever I'm annoyed but I don't mean it as bad as I said it
I don't think Jax was actually having this "sad boy with a golden heart moment" where he "wants Gangle to be her own authentic self because he loves her", it was just a response to how he was seeing her in the moment versus when she's most tolerable as a person, thus the comment that he "likes her better when she's sad"
Jax is an extremely direct person and people tend to put a lot of meaning in the things he says when there is none. He says everything literally and uses every word as its literal definition
And I'm gonna be honest, for me personally, I think I would've been more hurt by Ragatha's words than Jax's. Not because Jax is usually a jerk and it's expected from him, but there is a difference between someone saying they personally don't like you versus someone saying you're annoying
"I like you better when you're sad" Okay I don't care, that's your preference and I'm fine with that
"You're kind of annoying when you have your happy mask" Am I objectively being annoying? This would make me think that I'm bothering everyone, not just Ragatha, which personally would make me more anxious
Anyway yeah. I think too many people think Gangle was actually at her best using the happy mask when it was very much the opposite
She was upset, miserable, she literally threw the fuckin thing at the end and smiled without it. And in episode 5 she says it didn't bring out the best in her, and I agree with her
Gangle is nice when she's just being her own, introverted, soft self. She's just not a bossy, extroverted person and I think that's okay, she can be a soft spoken person without also being depressed and weak

General
Because I feel that the digital plane (or the Void, which I think contains the data Caine uses to make his adventures) that TADC is located in is loosely connected to the Human World, it does have access to any data information available. It just needs to be looked for.
While no one needs to eat, drink, or sleep to survive, the act of sleeping still has its benefits. As for why I think that sleep can still be beneficial, one word: Burnout (a state of emotional, mental, and often physical exhaustion brought on by prolonged or repeated stress). So, while sleep isn’t necessary for survival, it can help prevent burnouts.
Going off from this, I think that psychosomatic responses can still occur since it's a result of psychological stress.
Serious injury can still occur if the injury is caused by a bug or a virus (but not jumbling caused by Abstraction)
On bad mental health days, if a player can harm themselves.
Instead of blood, players have 'vital code', which takes most of their insides underneath their avatar and is dual-colored with a shimmering third color. AIs and NPCs also have 'vital codes', but Advanced AIs have a single color with a shimmering second color while regular NPCs have only one color.
The food they eat and beverages they drink does feel and taste like the real world counterpart, except they also have a staticky texture and aftertaste to it. It takes some getting used to.
Was bullied a lot as a kid because she was painfully shy
Has lost her father to cancer as a teenager and her mother became emotionally unavailable after the loss (...what? Th-This has nothing to do with my love for the father/daughter dynamic between Kinger and Pomni!)
During nights she can’t sleep in her room, she sleeps in Kinger’s fort for comfort (...shut up)
Does like video games, but doesn’t like horror games. But, she’s willing to watch Gangle play a horror game as long as she has a blanket or pillow to hide behind. Most games Pomni plays are usually more light hearted.
Does gain a slight liking to anime, thanks to Gangle
Snorts when laughing hard enough. She’s embarrassed of this though, but the others find it endearing since it's rare for her to get a hardy laugh.
Among the items she bought at the Gift Shop, one was a plush of Gummigoo. It was an impulse purchase and she has mixed feelings over this.
Was from a big family and the oldest child. She was forced to watch and care for her younger siblings because her parents are either too busy or too exhausted. Ragatha occasionally wonders how her brothers and sisters are doing since she’s been gone.
While she does love her family, she bites down her frustration over not having an active social life.
Enjoys tea. Its soothing.
Ragatha is definitely a mom friend thanks to her home life.
If she has any rips or loose limbs, she’ll sew herself back together. She rarely (never) asks for help for hard to reach places.
Was the main cook for the group until Zooble stepped in so she could take a break. At some point, Ragatha, Zooble, and Gangle would rotate on who’s cooking.
Bit of a delinquent during high school and always getting into trouble with authorities and his father.
He was still in high school when he came to the circus
Kaufmo was actually his best friend in the circus since he was reminded of his old friend back in the Human World and felt betrayed that Kaufmo didn’t open up to him.
In fact, Jax was more tolerable when around Kaufmo
Can play the guitar and is a pretty decent singer.
Enjoys Caine’s adventures more than video games since its way more immersive (since he's actually participating directly)
Was thoroughly upset when he (literally) couldn’t get drunk on his 21st birthday
Under the assumption they were married prior to entering the game, Kinger and Queenie renewed their vows in the circus. Caine even created them new rings. Kinger still has Queenie’s ring after she Abstracted.
Kinger feels guilty over his wife’s Abstraction, believing that he caused her to feel unloved/unwanted.
While Kinger may not remember full of his time with Pomni at the manor, his feelings of fatherly protection towards Pomni is still present, often acting on instinct when he feels Pomni is in distress. Depending on the situation, and state of mind, results vary.
Has unknowingly adopted Pomni and Gangle as his daughters (they are 23 and 22 years apart from him respectively, so it works)...or Pomni and Gangle had adopt him as their father. Whichever came first.
Among the bugs Kinger had grown fond of, he has a greater affinity for butterflies
Has tried to help Ragatha with her fear of centipedes. It failed. Ragatha was grateful though.
Along with Pomni, Kinger isn’t trusted with cooking by himself. Its not like he’s a bad cook, he’s just more likely to cause a fire because he forgot he left the stove on or something in the oven.
There was a one year period where Kinger was the only player in TADC
He earned a Masters in computer science in two years before marrying Queenie, who he met in the same college.
Has sketched drawings of her fellow players, sometimes in different outfits depending on their body type and preferences
Has drawn for her fellow players, usually of stuff they like (such as Ragatha’s love for horses and Kinger with bugs)
A bit of a covert pervert to some degree and a little embarrassed by it. She only shared this bit of information about herself to Zooble when they found a copy of the Highschool of the Dead manga on the floor. Zooble agreed to keep it a secret after Gangle begged.
During the one year period with just Kinger, Caine was surprised how hard it was to maintain a single player from teetering close to the deep end. So, he kept close company with Kinger until a new arrival came along. Since then, he emphasized more on group efforts. (go ahead RoyalTeethshippers. Use this to your heart’s content^^)
As mentioned in the General Headcanons, Caine has taken account of what transpired during his therapy session with Zooble (excluding moments Zooble said ‘nevermind’ or ‘forget it’) and tries to make sure that his adventures won’t lead to horrible experiences…however…
Among the few things Caine doesn’t have control over is what exactly happens during these adventures. Yes, he made them, plots, characters, and all, but whatever happens depends on the ‘adventure’s’ responses to the player’s choice. How’s your wife, Kinger? felt too targeted at the moment, considering the Super Scary Door was originally intended for Zooble and I don’t think Caine bothered to change anything himself. So, depending on the NPC’s given personality, they can act more antagonistic towards the players depending on choices made.
At first, Caine didn't know what to do with the Abstracted when the players first started turning into them. It was through Queenie's Abstraction and her time in Kinger's fort when Caine learned that the Abstracted are calmed in the dark. So, he made a dark place for the Abstracted in the Cellar.
