And then he learned that, even though he escaped reality by getting trapped in the circus, he managed to bring with him one crucial part that made it impossible to actually start clean. He brought himself and he brought his humanity. His real human ability to fuck up that new chance, to ruin it all all over again. His real human ability to lose loved ones. One after the other. Either to abstraction or words and actions that should not have been done and said. His ability to grieve the loss and his ability to still rot alive in the place where he hoped to thrive. So unfixable that even a completely new dimension couldn't make it better for him. So rotten and fake there was nothing left to cure, just the mask that no one ever believes no matter what expression it shows.

So yeah, I've been leafing through my History of Art lessons to find some of my favorite angel artworks for this one.

Kalim is based on The Guardian Angel by Marcantonio Franceschini.

Jamil is based on The Fall of Lucifer/War in Heaven by Gustave Doré for the book Paradise Lost (one if not my FAVORITE piece of art ever made)

Rewrite TADC as a fanfic and then into a musical (with help from bff)

Challenge: I have never written a multi-chapter fic before. I also have never made a musical before.

Important parts:

Pomni and Gummigoo are the main characters

It's an ensemble-type thing, with Act 1 focusing on Zooble and Gangle, Act 2 on Kinger and Caine, and Act 3 focused on Ragatha and Jax

Jax still abstracts

Nome of the ships become canon (or they all end up in a polycule together) (yes even Kinger)

Jax is still transfem in Act 3. Everyone in the cast is revealed to be genderfluid/bigender/nonbinary at the end of the show (long monologue) (yeah even Jax, cause she gives me bigender vibes)

C&A is a research company that unethically got brain copies from people to test how humans react to complete isolation + really bright colors all the time and Kinger is more guilty + active in his participation

Caine was a repurposed AI originally made for a kids game by the company (their cover-up story + money giver for unethical researches) and that's why he dislikes curses and doesn't understand why they won't go on his adventures very happily

The 3 main themes are choosing humanity/imperfection over ego/control, choosing connection over isolation, and choosing to find beauty in this digital life over always desiring to go back to their old one

Pomni's main objective is to "live a good life in an imperfect environment" (i.e. find joy through mild thrill seeking during the very boring and unfulfilling accountancy job --> Try to find the good parts of living in the digital circus and make is habitable/enjoyable as much as possible)

Gummigoo doesn't explode in episode 2 and he sneaks into the circus and affects everyone

Caine, who wants to connect with humans, learns that the NPCs he create are also alive and have free will and should be respected

Kinger feels so guilty about his active involvement in C&A, that he asks Caine to make him insane in the light. Like, make that the plot twist of act 2 and actually get the characters to react to him differently (some forgive him, others don't)

Make Zooble and Gangle have a life and identity outside of each other (especially Zooble) and get them to interact with the two main characters

Make Zooble friends with Kaufmo + most not accepting the probability that they'll never go home + be the first to invite Pomni to meet Kaufmo and escape the circus but then boom Kaufmo dies

Make Gangle fall in with Pomni in candyland

Make Gangle be the one whose friends with Jax and Ribbit (not Kaufmo, not Ragatha) so she's more withdrawn cause she witnessed more deaths + abstractions

Give Ragatha her first solo song in the second act as a plot twist

Make act 1 be main plot Pomni comes to terms with this life + Gummigoo tries to uncover how his creator (Caine) thinks of him/try not to be snapped away by him

Also Zooble learns to appreciate the beauty of this digital life and Gangle learns not to try to be perfect all the time and not be too hard on herself and they both learn not to self-isolate

Make act 2 about Gummigoo confronting Caine and Kinger about the existence of the circus and the gang tries to make sure that all of them don't get deleted by the researchers

Also about Kinger learning to take responsibility but also he shouldn't feel so guilty that he self-isolates + Caine that letting his ego/need for perfection run amok leads to him not being able to connect well with others

also that all the NPCs are alive

Make act 3 about recovering after all the madness, and how the crew react to that peace (unnerved)

Ragatha and Jax both spiral, but Jax does not get better. Ragatha gets over her need for control/perfection, and she asks for help. Jax gets more stuck in his own world and abstracts/deletes his mind file

Gangle has to deal with the last person in her first friend group in tadc like die.

Living a normal life after all these tribulations (how?? With the lessons they learned from previous)

Somewhat happy good ending

the reason why i really liked TADC was cause of it's character-focused type thing. I really liked early TADC, where each character was given focus. I really wished we got a Zooble-centric episode. Also everyone goes through near abstraction in my remake

2. Pomni and Gummigoo as the main characters

Saw a bunch of people calling Pomni boring, which is like, fair, but I really like her character and I want to keep her as a main character. I liked how she reacted to the circus, at first not wanting to connect with anyone, but at the end, being connected with everyone. I like how she couldn't fully comfort Gangle at the first time, i love her imperfections.

For Gummigoo, I guess it is because of the finale. Caine realizes the NPCs are sentient because of Moon? Cool! I remembered how Pomni learned of empathy/friendship through Gummigoo (and kinger) and i remembered how emotional Gummigoo made me in episode 2 and since this was a theme the finale explored, why couldn't i expand upon it on my remake?

3. Kinger guilt

I love Kinger and he is so silly and I want him to suffer. For real though, that man faced zero consequences. I wanted him to feel more guilty. I wanted him to be more than a father figure. I want him being a programmer to have significant weight in the story. I want it as a plot twist to shock those that don't know.

4. None of the ships will be canon (or all of them polycule)

One of the best parts of TADC for me back then was Goose's post, "no ships will be canon". It made rarepair ships like Crookedteeth and Royaljester to be as equally canon as the more famous abstragedy and funnybunny. All ships were equal, for none of them were real. And then abstragedy became canon. jfkasjkhshhjfhjfjjgfs.

have a lore plot for act 2 (not just character based)

fix plot holes

also so more time for Caine redemption arc

7. Make Zooble friends with Kaufmo and Gangle friends with ribbitrabbit

i need them to fit their themes

isolation (gangle cause saw many people abstract and learned not to get attached) and one-track mind must escape digital circus (Zooble seems like the type to miss their world the most)

Its good for character development

7. Make Zooble and Gangle the first to meet Pomni

So that readers wouldnt get bored of the remake

It's interesting

Makes Zooble and Gangle more fleshed out + have lives not just revolving each other (i still hate how they made Zooble's scenes revolve around Gangle for the last half of TADC)

8. Jax abstracts

narratively, it is really interesting when a pattern breaks. Like 'thing a happened' 'thing a happened again' 'thing a did not happen'. thing a being salvation of the charavters btw

Names are deliberate misspellings of the things they are

“There’s nothing wrong with him he’s just annoying”

So much anime bullshit, designed around a particular archetype taken to the extreme for comedy - arrogant shonen rival for Berdly, princely charming ikemen for Flowery

Way stronger than you’d initially think based on appearance

Can and will appear when you’d absolutely least expect

Canonical ally in the most obnoxious way possible

Will go out of their way to please the one person that treated them like someone when no one else did

The very person they bend over backwards trying to please ends up being put off by said behaviour, even though all they did was for the purpose of making them happy

Can and will put their lives on the line to protect their loved ones when facing off against a knight (or The Knight), even if it’s a losing battle

Will draw power from supportive comrades during the final boss battle - the thrash machine for Berdly, recruits and the other flowers for Flowery

Whatever the hell I’m supposed to make of this:

I’m not “media illiterate” for wanting the lore that was introduced to be actually developed, regardless of the fact that the show is “character-based.”

I’m not “media illiterate” for wanting more than ONE character of the cast to be focused on.

I have answered to this a thousand times. There is zero evidence that Odysseus was using his war prizes or slaves for sex. In fact we have more evidence for otherwise.

His father Laertes seems to set an example for it since in the Odyssey he bought Euryclea for a very hefty price of 20 oxen and he loved her but he never took her to his bed because he was thinking of his wife's anger if he did (so there is a high chance Odysseus had the same principles in his life)

Odysseus had 50 slave women in his palace alone. They were working as servants not as bed mates (in fact Odysseus even calls the suitors out for forcing themselves upon them -minus the 12 ones that were willing- so Odysseus seems to hint that forcing oneself upon someone is the very least diminishing if anything else)

The only mention of a war prize of his in the Iliad is the hypothetical scenario that Agamemnon brought that "if I were to take the prize of Ajax or Odysseus I would do it!" (Plot twist; it is interesting that Ajax and Odysseus are placed side by side in regards to war prizes because Ajax is known for loving and caring deeply for his own war prize Techmessa with whom he had a son with, Eurysaces, and he treated Techmessa like a lawful wide and she returned his feelings so if anything the comparison between the two doesn't seem random)

Even in later traditions Odysseus takes Hecuba as his war prize. And even Euripides in the Trojan Women that seems to be one of the hymns of "devilish Odysseus" and it is confessed that Hecuba would probably be used for servitude either for Penelope or Anticlea so she was not to be used for sex

Odysseus is one of those that strongly insists upon stoning Ajax the Lesser to death for the double crime of rape and asebeia when Ajax raped Cassandra within the temple

Even in Ismarus he divides the spoils equally among men. He doesn't show interest on some specific woman to have good time with. In fact he seems dismissive. He only says in two words that "the spoils were equally divided among them" (it seems that the desire to have a hot woman to his bed after a conquest was the last thing in his mind)

Even in traditions that Odysseus is presented as a womanizer who has sex with every female he encounters (based on local traditions that want to make him the progenitor of the area) all his affairs are with free women who give themselves to him willingly including princesses, one daughter of Aeolus, Circe or Calypso -to the non-homeric versions that paint their relationship as for most part willing- and even some lesser known myths all of them depict him have affairs not rape women

To summarize as far as Homer is concerned there is zero evidence that Odysseus had sex with his war prizes at all and in fact we have more evidence to show otherwise imo but that is a matter of interpretation.

However even in the versions that depict him have affairs his affairs are willing. By n large we see him as the lover not the rapist so again rape doesn't seem to be part of his starter pack at all.

However again here we go with these disgusting mentions. Okay then as I said then Hecuba had it coming. She committed brutal murder in the name of revenge so she deserved turning mad or transforming into a dog for her crime or when she was jinxing the army she deserved being stoned to death by your logic. Cassandra committed asebeia against the God Apollo so by your own words she deserved what happened to her in a sanctuary of a goddess... Penelope was lying to people and tricking them so with your logic she deserved being constantly harassed by princes that were eating away her wealth and being agonizing for her son being away.

Are you serious?!

Okay my half-rant is over so here's some thoughts around the aspect of his captivity for the logical watchers and followers of mine
