the holi ep performance is so good and yes on surface it is vindicative and romantic but under it all its also... maybe its me expecting too much from itv soaps but it would have been so much more powerful if gangaa had reclaimed the colours herself. i was thinking abt what irked me abt the scene and its like. here's this patriarchal custom that punishes women for something that's not their fault or in their control and after stripping them of their agency and desires, it's all "given back" or like... bestowed upon gangaa by a man and by the same thing that left her so lost in the first place-marriage. yknow its not that now she deserves to enjoy what she unfairly lost but its the fact that she never should've lost it in the first place. no woman should
