I honor Zeus Teleios and Hera Teleia with this invocation and prayer, written for my Theogamia rite. Blessed Theogamia! 💍💙💚
I call to queenly Hera, beloved of thundering Zeus, radiant daughter of Kronos and blessed Rheia, who guides heroes with a loving hand. Loved in Argos and in Samos, ever remembered in myth across time.
Many are your temples, many are your honors, many are the blessings granted by your virtue.
You are seen in the clear blue sky, in the frolicking of sweet lambs across the field, in the joyous wedding feasts of the world, in the harmonious home.
I call to kingly Zeus, beloved of blooming Hera, strongest son of Kronos and blessed Rheia, who guides man with a firm hand. Loved universally— in Dodona and Olympia, ever remembered in myth across time.
Many are your temples, many are your honors, many are the blessings granted by your virtue.
You are seen in the rolling thunder of storms, in the rearing of a strong bull, in the triumphant wedding feasts of the world, in the harmonious home.
Zeus Teleios, perfected in marriage by blooming Hera, how I praise you! King of the Gods, advisor to men and heroes, friend of the fates and giver of good fortune, if I have ever waxed sweet words of poetry and prayer for you, pouring honey and fresh water, lord, look kindly unto me! May you guide me to true adoration and companionship, an equal union of love.
Hera Teleia, perfected in marriage by thundering Zeus, how I praise you! Eldest daughter of Kronos, who receives equal honors as your loving husband, white-armed potnia, if I have ever waxed sweet words of poetry and prayer for you, pouring honey and fresh water, look kindly unto me! May you guide me to true adoration and companionship, an equal union of love.
Iris, my lady, faithful messenger of the divine king and queen, who sends rainbows booming in the wake of their marriage, allow my prayers to reach the Gods swiftly.
(Iris is here since she's my patroness as well as her connection to Hera and Zeus. If using this prayer, feel free to not mention her, but I choose to honor her as well when I'm praying)
