Reverse unpopular opinion on veklin
Her character design on the Big Finish covers is really solid and I feel like the longer hair really fits her as a character.

You're one of Ollistra's creatures, aren't you?
within her very first scene....
Have you considered Veklin today?
As ordered by @daughterofheartshaven
Okay so my favorite thing about Resistance is just how much ambiguity it has with Veklin. We know where Veklin's loyalty is for exactly two scenes - the very start, and the very end. In both cases, she is loyal to Ollistra.
But beyond that? We have no idea. When she tells Leela she's being a double agent, was that her being honest with Leela, or manipulating her? When she passes the Resistance's checks, is that legitimate, or did she know how to fake the system? When she tells Hana she wants to help her end the bloodshed, did she mean it or was she trying to figure out what Hana was doing? Was she bothered by building a weapon against Gallifrey, or did she only turn on Eris and Hana when she saw they were lying to Narvin and Leela?
I got no clue. Hell, I doubt Veklin herself knows. And that's so fucking good.

There's something really delicious about how Veklin's response to the Node Two massacre is "everything Gallifrey does has a point." She does not try to claim that Gallifrey wouldn't massacre civilians like that, but she does claim that they wouldn't do so pointlessly. Which I think speaks loads about her perception of Gallifrey but also herself. Because yes Veklin can be callous or cruel but she is never that without an ulterior motive.
And, frankly, the same can be said for Ollistra. Like Ollistra's priorities are kind of out of whack, but at the same time she's never been pulling power plays for the sake of it. It's always been for a specific purpose, which probably also is informing Veklin's worldview here. Of course, what counts as a valid purpose can be very much up for debate.
Veklin: I dunno about sides. But if you have a way to stop the bloodshed, I want to help.

she refuses to commit to being on the Resistance's "side" but she does genuinely seem to want to end the bloodshed and I just.... AGH
Okay so I wasn't expecting Veklin to just tell Leela that she's being a double agent. That's really clever of her, since it bypasses the fact that Leela will have noticed she was lying - she just admitted to lying up-front.
Like sure, it might make her less trustworthy, but she already wasn't trustworthy. It also means she knows how Leela thinks about her. It's a really clever move.
