Yesssssss there is so much touching and affection throughout the final season and I love it so much! I'm pretty sure the main reason Ian suggested Mickey get a job at the warehouse with him is not to make money but so they could be near each other that much more. (They would've gotten fired within days of Mickey getting hired because they can't keep away from each other and they would absolutely get caught fucking in a storeroom or something, history/canon proves this)

15. How messy is their apartment?

Hehe, I stick to the headcanon that it is fairly clean thanks to Ian. He might have to nag Mickey about the socks left somewhere on the floor or an excessive amount of dishes in the sink every once in a while though.

Idk why, but I often catch myself imagining their apartment spotless, almost too clean, when in reality I'd like it to be full of little meaningful things they buy or get from their siblings or other sentimental shit Mickey would bitch about (affectionate) and Ian would adore. And that may come with having a few things out of place just for the vibe of it.

So I'll go with relatively tidy. Definitely without cigarette butts and beer cans all over the place😄

27. What random/dangerous/stupid things did they get up to that we didn’t see in canon?

They absolutely, definitely, undoubtedly went skinny-dipping in that west side pool. And idk about pissing in it, but I'm 100% sure Mickey wanted to jump Ian's bones in it the moment they started to finally get used to the place. That reminds me, there's this fic that I absolutely loved featuring this moment - nevermind the audience. It's awesome and it's exactly how I imagine it to go!

Talking about earlier seasons, I wholeheartedly believe they've been on so many dates (like the subtle kind because come on Mickey Milkovich doesn't go on dates duh🙄😂) and these dates included sneaking into different kinds of places: to the movies, Sox games, up the roof with a bunch of snacks and joints to just hang out, watch the sunrise and stuff... And I have a fic reference for this one as well - Mickey Milkovich's Guide to Flirting - it's got perfect examples of various random stuff they got up to and we didn't get to see💕

13. An Ian headcanon

All I can think of right now is Ian in a plaid shirt and some gloves digging in his little garden. Seeing there’s a few ripe tomatoes and cucumbers so he picks them takes them inside to wash and makes a salad for him and Mickey to eat with the spaghetti and homemade sauce Mickey requested for dinner. He also plants some stargazer lilies hoping they’ll grow but he doesn’t say anything just in case they don’t (one day Mickey gets home and there’s two in a vase on the kitchen table).

14. A Mickey headcanon

Mickey gave himself the day off from the security business. The dudes they hired are trustworthy and need to start doing shit on their own. So he spends the day sunbathing by the pool with a cooler full of beer right next to him music playing softly while he sketches in his book Ian bought him (he used to just make dumb doodles but he’s gotten really into it lately. Ian has his garden. Mickey has his sketch book). Some guy sits on the chair one over from him which makes Mickey alert because there’s no one else around and all the other chairs are empty.

“Hot outside today huh?” This dude says.

“Yup”

“Whatcha drawing?”

“What’s it to ya?”

“Has anyone ever told you how fucking pretty you are?”

“Has anyone ever curb stomped you because I’d be fucking happy to”

“Feisty”

“Listen bitch. My husband is a jealous asshole so if you wanna keep your dick I’d shut the fuck up and leave me the fuck alone”

“Ah. Married. The ring tan should’ve given it away”

“Yeah. Married. So fucking scram”

Even after the threat the man doesn’t seem to be moving. Just then mickey’s phone rings and he answers it on speaker. “Sup Red?” “Hey baby. I’ll be home in like 5 minutes. You have a good day off?”

“Yeah until some fucker with a death wish called me pretty and still won’t leave me alone”

“.......Give me two minutes. I’ll get the gun”

Mickey looks over to the guy with a smirk on his face just in time to see him grab his shit and run.

15. A Gallavich headcanon

Oh, anon… This is such a hard question…In short, I really have no idea because I can’t decide if my logically thought out reason for his guaranteed return is still covered by my bias and my desire for him to come back, and I also completely recognize the possibility that he may not. What I do know is this:

1. Noel Fisher has said repeatedly that the ball is in the writers/producers court; that he is totally open to coming back.

2. Noel has told a couple of fans to “just keep watching” and hinted that if prison walls aren’t going to keep Mickey away then neither is a border.

3. At one point, Sheila Callaghan said (though I no longer have concrete evidence of this unfortunately so this is kind of hearsay) that Mickey’s character isn’t dead.

4. The cast and writers all seem to genuinely love Mickey’s character (despite the deplorable treatment in season 6 and 7).

5. I’d estimate half of the fandom has threatened to stop watching after season 8 if Mickey doesn’t come back. Whether or not the producers heed that threat is debatable, but either way I’m sure they probably recognize that they need to somehow keep the Gallavich fans happy because they are definitely a majority of the Shameless fandom and we’ve raised a pretty big stink about this…

6. If they don’t bring Noel back by the end of season 8 (and I mean make it possible for him to come back full time because if they bring him in and write him off AGAIN it doesn’t count) there will be no season 9. I just can not see them getting renewed for another season and I’m not the only one that thinks this. As I’ve said before not bringing Noel back would be like TV suicide at this point.

These 6 things are keeping my hopes up for Mickey’s return, but I do still keep in mind the possibility that either the writers are being too stubborn or maybe even that Noel doesn’t actually want to come back (I find this highly unlikely, but yanno, shit happens).

Anon, I desperately HOPE he does for SO MANY REASONS! And I’ll maintain hope probably until mid November/December and if we still haven’t seen anything?? Then I’ll start to get worried.

14. what's your opinion on the other gallavich couples or ships? (some people ship frank and terry too, so that's included in this)

So, I'm not against other Gallavich couples, but I don't seek them out either. I will happily read a fic that includes Lip/Mandy, Debbie/Sandy, or even Fiona/Iggy (or Colin, whomever, doesn't matter) but I definitely don't get invested. Within canon and a lot of fics, I like Lip with Tami. And Debbie was a hot mess and she and Sandy could've been good together but Debbie had mommy issues and gave that up, which is too bad, because I did like them together. And we never saw Fiona with a Milkovich brother, but I've read some fics where that worked well. I will say though, I think the Gallaghers, besides Ian, just think they're better than the Milkoviches (in general, because by s10, most, if not all, of the Gallaghers are pro-Mickey and believe he's good enough for Ian) and so those relationships wouldn't work out. Whereas Ian loves that his husband is a full-on barbarian! He and Mickey are the only Gallavich that has staying power.

16. Who is the better driver?

Ian gets my vote. I'm sure Mickey is a fine driver, but Ian drove the ambulance as an EMT and also served as Mickey's getaway driver on multiple occasions, so I feel like he's probably the slightly better driver?

19. Do you think they ever ended up in detention together at school? If so, did they acknowledge each other?

This is a tough one, because I can't picture Mickey actually showing up to detention. He has very little respect for authority figures, and there definitely wouldn't be consequences at home for skipping detention - if anything, Mickey would probably have been in bigger shit with Terry if he sat through detention when he was expected to be doing Milkovich Shit™️. I definitely think Ian probably got detention a time or too, maybe before he started ROTC, and probably because he got caught helping Lip with some kind of shenanigans. If Ian and Mickey DID serve detention together, I don't think Mickey would have acknowledged Ian if anyone else were in the room. If the teacher left the room for a few minutes and they were alone? Then yes (right before Mickey zoomed right on out of there with Ian hot on his heels).
