The cafΓ©'s overly crowded this afternoon. It is close to several universities. With it being end of term and all, River's lucky to have a table. (Though, it may have had more to do with her oh so charming smile and an off-handed comment about needing to find somewhere else to mark papers before her summer holiday could begin.)
She glances up at the familiar voice. Green eyes widen momentarily from behind her glasses. What is he doing in London?
She cants her head. The smile she offers is far less charming than the one she'd employed earlier. "You do realise that's not the way to greet the person who has something you want." In this case, she means a chair opposite hers and a spot for whatever he's ordered after she rearranges her to-do and done piles.
She sets down her pen. Then, she rests her chin on her hands. A cursory glance around the room. All for show, of course. She's seen the crowds grow throughout the day. "There's always that spot near the rubbish bin," she quips. They both know why it's unoccupied.
She clicks her tongue. "Try again?"
