Not a faun! Faun! Not the word "fan." I was trying to point out the slight difference between the Greek Satyrs and the Roman Faun. But auto correct effed up again and just made me sound like I was bitching about the character. Which I wasn't. I actually enjoyed him.
No, I meant he didn't have a lower goat half the way we think of Satyrs now. That's actually more thanks to fauns if I'm not mistaken. Greek Satyrs were a bit more monkey like but sometimes had cloven hooves like we see on the Storm King.
About the quick reply yesterday to the designer hopeful about interview wear...
After reading some of the comments from my post yesterday, I wanted to apologize for the dismissive attitude I took. Given the state of current events (especially with all of the sexual harassment in the news) I should have been more tactful with what I said. In retrospect, I should have noted that the asker was nervous about the contents of the question, and I should have treated my phrasing with as much seriousness as I approached the actual question. Upon reflection, I can understand the perspective that interprets my response as me not taking the question seriously.
I spoke with a number of game dev women in various disciplines - art, design, engineering - about their interview attire before answering that question, and they all gave the unanimous response - tees and jeans were just fine for them. Some of them chose to wear sweaters due to the weather, but nothing more formal or out of the ordinary unless they wanted to. One of them mentioned that she would occasionally wear a blazer on top of her tee and jeans, but that was her own personal preference rather than any sort of requirement. All of the hiring managers I spoke with assured me that they would never hold the choice of clothing against the candidate.

So my reaction to that Chaz prank episode is very personal. getting people on anon and ask saying stuff like Moxxie nad Millie would've even owed Chaz or Zahc(or w/e tf his name was supposed to be) a chance after he abandoned Moxxie for jail, was going to tear M & M's marriage apart, and happily force-marry Moxxie (and who even KNOWS what he did to Millie), is extremely disorienting especially when everyone else is finds it funny*. And people are flat out telling you to stop caring. how about you don't try to patrol how i write and how i feel? or you just unfollow if it's not working out? this is an rp blog. not your personal fanfic.
[*The last part is fine. nobody can know how a joke is landing for someone else, obvs. If you thought it was funny, i'm glad you could enjoy what i couldn't, it just landed as the opposite of funny for me]. But when a blogger posts "ok this isn't funny for me. stop" and you keep going? And when a blogger says "don't bother my muse about this" and you keep going. It is pressuring. "I need you to write this 'less important/less popular' muse the way I WANT them to be written"

Humans are not bright yellow and yet, yellow is not racially neutral. Rather, yellow’s very neutrality, in the U.S., signifies white. Both readers and writers of yellow know this, if not explicitly. In fact, it is the implicity of whiteness that makes it so powerful. For example, nothing about the Simpsons should read white. Marge has blue hair for goodness sake. And yet, the Simpsons are a white family. Hence, Apu and Carl are brown, both raced vis-à-vis the rest of the Springfield citizenry. Similarly, and to move away from yellow specifically, the hyenas in Lion King talk with urban black vernacular and Sebastian from the Little Mermaid is Jamaican (and sings about the ocean being awesome because you don’t have to get a job under there). We live in a culture of white-unless-signified-otherwise.

Mentrual Stem Cells: Addendum
I found some studies claiming that you can make indeed stem cells from menses (no clinical studies on humans have been made yet though), however drinking it is still bullshit. You still need transplants, and studies about it are still very sparse (here). Read nobody knows if it's even working in humans yet. Also apparently we're talking multipotent stem cells (I mentioned the distinction before) and those do need treatment to be usable outside of rather specific parameters. I mentioned that induction of pluripotency is sort of recent and judging from pubmed, most studies about endometrial stem cells up to now have been in conjecture to endometriosis.
So yes the article is still 90% bullshit with a hint of science at the edges, and can I mention as a personal aside that the whole ~feminine womb magic woo~ is goddamn annoying for reasons of being extremely assholish towards transpeople, intersex people and a good portion of biological female people.
