There is a festival going on in FOH. So I painted Darroh in a yukata attending it. Still working on a new painting style and not quite there yet with it.

I had an idea. Remember the Furnixes from Skyward Sword?

I just thought of something interesting to do with them in a future game.

When in a dugeon, Link fights a boss known as the Furnix Queen, however upon defeating her (specifically with the Master Sword or a Light Magic-based weapon), she bursts into flames & her ashes fall upon the ground. If Link later returns to the place where he defeated her & the thing that dealt the final blow was either the Master Sword or a Light Arrow, then in the place of the Furnix Queen will be the Phoenix Queen, the benevolent monarch of the Phoenixes. Who is very large & beautiful & resembles the Fenghuang, having red, gold, blue, & purple peacock-like feathers, who will thank Link graciously for purifying her. She will then request that he aid her in a ritual that will purify her kin using the Master Sword as an amplifier (& failing that, a Light Magic-based weapon). After using the Master Sword, all the Furnixes will change to Phoenixes. However, using Light Arrows would only allow a small amount to become free.

On the other hand, if Link didn't land the final blow with the Master Sword or a Light Magic-based weapon, then either he'll have to refight the Fernix Queen & it will be specified that he needs to land the final blow with something radiating purity. Or there will just be nothing but ashes left, implying that by killing a Phoenix while it is impure kills it fully. She will only reappear after a Blood Moon, thus giving Link another chance to save her. It's implied that if not for the Blood Moon continually reanimating her, she'd have just been dead-dead.

Anyway, Furnixes only appear on Sky Islands or the Eldin Region. They are supposed to be difficult creatures to fight.

After helping the Phoenix Queen with the purification ritual using the Master Sword or Light-based weapon, the Furnixes will be replaced with Phoenixes.

At which point, they no longer attack Link, instead gifting him with rare drops whenever they see him. Or in the case of Link being in battle at the time, they will come to his aid.

Can still be killed, but it's considered bad luck to do so. Like, it actively lowers the chances of getting rare drops; not just when killing Phoenixes, but all drops from everywhere in the game. When killed they burst into flames & crumbles into ash before leaving behind a few drops. It's implied that the Pheonix isn't actually dead, rather restarting its life cycle. However, being forced to repeat said cycle when they don't need to is actually very frustrating & inconvenient, not to mention rude.
