By the time I blinked and looked back at her, her head was in her hands and her boyfriend was laughing like a maniac while she was muttering “I didn’t even think, I was trying to say ‘how are you?’ I’m so sorry.”

I just kinda laughed and said, “Well my job is literally walking around the store and finding things, so hopefully the answer is yes.”

A few years ago, I survived months of unemployment only to take the first job of any kind that was offered to me, which turned out to be a part time cashier position at an “Adult Novelty” store. Otherwise known as the porn shop. And as it turns out, the comedic gold of the job at least partly made up for the fact that I was barely making…

Eric:

Had a good time at BP last night. Brought the girlfriend for our anniversary. Only complaint is that our waiter seemed to glow an unholy power. Thankfully, I carry my amulets and baubles at all times so I was protected against any sort of attack. My girlfriend, however, was no so lucky. She succumbed to varying spells and incantations the waiter mumbled under his breath while refilling our sodas and, in the end, I lost her forever to the army of the undead. She was dragged into an open portal, her scream still echoing in my mind. She reigns forever now by the side of a powerful hell lord in a nightmarish deathscape filled with pain and fire. I had the Crispy Chicken Pecan Salad which was AMAZING. Girlfriend had the Famous Boston Brute which I am now enjoying for lunch.

Dear Eric, We are sorry to hear about your experience at BP. We can assure you, we take zombie-possession very seriously and will look into the matter. On another note, we’re glad you liked the Crispy Chicken Pecan and the Boston Brute, both of which are certainly human-Guest favourites.

Me: “Okay, sir, so you’re Victor Krumm?”

Caller: “Yep, that’s me.”

Me: “Sorry, this might sound funny, but did you know that there’s a book series called Harry Potter with a character with that name?”

(There’s a pause, as if he’s thinking, and suddenly he yells.)

Caller: “THE MUGGLES KNOW!”
