Work Drama Part 2
So since you got a some of the details here's where the story begins. Probably about 6 months ago the senior ops manager(let's just call him the big boss to make things shorter later on) kept disappearing from work. Sometimes he said he was going to a meeting and some other things but ther said never been a boss who was always off site.
This pattern increased of the last couple of months. Usually we get the temps in by end of June and things start the first week of July. This year mid July is when we got the temps. And despite the urgency the big boss was super calm. By week 3 things really looked messy and everyone was kind of puzzled. That side of the building isn't my area but I could see the stress from the workers there.
I've been here for 2 years and I've never seen it so jam packed and crazy. We had some really lazy temps in the past but this year straight goonery and laziness.
One guy tried to steal a co-workers shoes from the shift after his. My friend came in early his shoes were gone and he went looking for the perp. When he found the dude. The guy denied it but my friend had the same shoes for 3 years. The person replied with "oh so you think you're a boss ey?" "no those are my shoes *describes random markings inside shoe " "nah b these are my kicks still you trying to get manz fired out here" "don't fucking play these are my shoes I'll fuck you up " "Yo boss chill it's not that serious I was just playing" *gives back his shoes*
After I heard that shit started using my locker. Which I haven't used since early last year. After all this my boss decided to resigned but the thing is he's been planning this for a while. And he knew shit was going south but didn't care cuz he had another job lined up.
So obviously they were upset but the thing is Lt hey didn't know how fucked duo everything was until a week after he left or so they said. There was a replacement almost instantly but he was the one who didn't know how bad the mess was and when you take someone's place it doesn't matter if they messed up you're the one who's responsible. So they pretty much set this guy up.
I didn't know how him but a huge chunk of people didn't like him and a huge chunk did. After realizing how bad things were he also quit after just two weeks. That's some cooperate bullshit right there because he thought it was an opportunity to get even higher in the company.
So to give you reasons why the guy quit. Think of it this way. Things are packed and ready to be shipped but everything is so mixed up that some thing that's should be going to one side of the country is mixed with things that is supposed to go to the other side of the country. And you have to figure how to fix all this in 3 weeks.
Not only that people aren't doing their work because it's a temporary job. So you gotta hire more people because you can't lose anymore people even though they're doing a shit job it's better than nothing and you have to make it work because you're in charge now. Oh and you're 2-3weeks behind on work.
The following week we had people from the other site come to help speed up the process. A ton of managers came by as well. Even the loss prevention head of the company came to weed out a ton of people and see how much they would lose.
Fast forward to today things need to be shipped by the end of the week but and we're almost caught up. Luckily I don't have to deal with any of that because that's not my area but the stress from everyone else manifested into a physical feeling. You can feel pressure and it's not pleasant.
That was the Christmas rush I don't know if there another wave of Christmas stuff or if they're moving to new year's /Valentine's day but they need to start planning now to avoid a shit show like that again.
If anything else happens which it might there will be a part 3 but I might make a characters page describing some of the people and they're habits (the temps)
