Jamie Loud - Full-Render (Personal Project)
This is a render I'd spent the majority of a few weeks working on. It was my sister's Christmas gift, and I was keeping it under wraps (HA) to avoid her finding out. I haven't posted it earlier, because she likes to stalk my Tumblr, so it would've been spoiled had I'd done so. (I'd finished it only a few days before Christmas, so getting the hoodie I'd designed with it was going to take a couple weeks more, unfortunately.)
I haven't done 3D shading/rendering in literal years now, and it shows... I'm so disappointed with how it turned out. (Probably would've been better if I'd started on it much earlier than I had, giving myself more time to figure it out, but things didn't work out that way.) The design? Not too bad; I'm fairly happy with how it turned out considering it's a mix of the DP and Puyo-Puyo Tetris styles with some tweaks.
I'm just not happy with the rendering, which is even more upsetting since that was the kind of shading I'd done all the time when first getting into art. I didn't fully understand how to work with 2D shading, nor did I bother to figure it out when I really enjoyed doing 3D. Then I jumped into working on my 2D shading, which has taken me away from the 3D look I'd loved so much before... I gotta figure out how to balance them better, because I'm not doing a great job of that.
*No Stealing!* Thank you!
