FT Rewrite shit so donât read if youâre not interested
Iâve always been interested in why the Spriggan members are with Zeref, so I came up with a couple ideas.
basically, I re-wrote Brandish and Ireneâs backstories and made them worse. I only have these two complete, and have a few ideas floating around for some of the others, so here we are. Mentions of attempted forced abortion, attempted murder, child abuse, murder, and attempted suicide.
Jude Heartfilia had a girlfriend who got pregnant, before she had the chance to tell him, he dumped her in order to marry Layla Heartfilia. Once he found out she had his child, he moved her to work on one of the farmsteads that was owned by the Heartfilia clan. Brandish was born two (2) years before Lucy Heartfilia was.
Brandish grew up helping around the farm, but she was heavily neglected by her mother.Her mother never spoke a word to her, and even hit her when Brandish attempted to hug her. Her mother moved away, and she didnât see her for years.
When Brandish was twelve (12), her mother and father attempted to move her in with Jude, after Layla passed, and even told Brandish she had a sister. However, they were ambushed by people that Jude owned money, and Brandishâs mother was murdered. Jude had enough money to save himself and Brandish, and he shipped her away to an orphanage.
When Brandish turned 17, she left the orphanage and attempted to look for her father. She looked for years, and finally found him at the age of 19. She bleached her hair blonde, and worked with him for a few months. The night she planned on telling him who she was, he drunkenly tried to kiss her.
Disgusted, she ran into the forest near town and ran into Zeref. He apologized for knocking her over and left, accidentally dropping a bottle on the ground. A bit of the liquid in the bottle landed on a flower, killing it instantly. Instead of tracking Zeref down, or reporting him to the police, Brandish took the poisonous liquid back to her place. There she poured herself and Jude a glass of wine. Dumping the remaining poison in both glasses, she murdered Jude and attempted suicide. Brandish survived the poisoning, as a neighbor heard both of them collapse, but Jude did not.
After his funeral, Brandish was cornered by Zeref, asking her if she used the bottle. He told her that he had hoped it would solve a problem of his and he wanted it back. Brandish confessed that she used it to kill her father. Begging for Zerefâs forgiveness, she joined the Spriggan, claiming to be in his debt.
Seven (7) years later, she overheard Lucy asking about Jude Heartfilia, claiming to be her daughter. She followed Lucy to the cemetery where Jude was buried and waited for her to leave.
It was there that Brandish had first seen her sister, and only hoped to tell her about how disgusting their father was.
Irene was only 14 years old when she created dragon slayer magic, and became the arbitrator between humans and dragons.
When she turned 17, she was married to a young prince, in order to prevent war with a neighboring kingdom. She soon feel pregnant, but before she could tell her husband, she began slowly turning into a dragon, herself (dragonfication).
She was captured by the frightened countrymen, and was set to be burned at the stake. She desperately tried to save herself and the baby, but was only brought out for execution quicker. They feared the child would be a monster, so they set out to kill both of them before she had the chance to give birth.
Once the fire began to burn, Irene stopped fighting against the dragonfication and allowed herself to fully transform into a dragon, killing the entire mob and her husband.
Four hundred (400) years past and she remained in her dragon form. One day, Zeref encountered her in her cave, and after she failed to kill him, he transformed her back into her human form. He taught her the ways of how to control her transformation in exchange for learning dragon slayer magic.
He also told her that her babyâs growth had been frozen for all those years, and she was still expecting a child. A powerful, human child.
Irene only entered the neighboring town in order to get food and supplies. Her trust in humans had been destroyed and she wanted to raise her child in the cave she called home. She even went through labor by herself.
She had knitted a small basket for her daughter, with the name âErzaâ ingraved in the side. âErzaâ meaning âwarriorâ in the dragonâs language.
Once, when she was out collecting fruit just outside the cave, she was cornered by a group of men, who had feared the woman in the cave. She attempted to fight them off, but was captured and taken away to the wizarding prison. She was held there for years, not knowing the fate of her daughter.
Nine (9) years later, she was broken out of the prison by Zeref, who had tracked her down. Together, they tracked down Erza, who, by this point, was happy in the Fairy Tail guild.
Irene longed to be with her daughter, but recognized that she wasnât prepared to be a mother anymore, and Erza already had a family.
Zeref understood her wishes, and offered to teach Irene a magic that would allow her to keep an eye on Erza, even if she volunteered to not be a part of her life.
Irene watched Erza from the Alverz empire for ten (10) years, until she was captured Jellal during the Tower of Heaven. Irene arrived in time to see Natsu save Erza from the lacrima.
However, Irene caught sight of Jellal, unconsious and drowning in the ocean. She had seen how Erza had cared for him, despite what he had done, so she transformed into a dragon and saved him from the water, when she knew no one would see.
Jellal had amnesia when he awoke, unsure of where he was, or who he was. The only thing he remembered was a woman with scarlet-red hair. The woman who saved him.ďżź
