“Juvia doesn’t think that it really matters now,” Juvia replied. Her tone was sharp and harsh from Lucy’s complaints, it was clear how much she was worried that Wendy had yet to regain consciousness. “Whoever took us must be a group of powerful wizards, likely dark ones at that.”

Lucy shivered at the thought. She was right. And who knows what they had planned for them. They were after Erza, meaning they were probably going to keep her alive, at least for the meantime. But where did that leave the rest of them? Were they going to kill them? Torture them for information? Sell them as slaves?

“You said you were with Natsu and Gray before they attacked you, right?” Lucy asked.

“Yes,” Juvia answered shortly.

“Did you see where they took them?”

“No, Juvia was also drugged after she surrendered.”

“They’re not far,” a small voice whispered.

Juvia’s eyes widened and she tried to get a look at the small girl coming too. “Wendy? Is Wendy alright?”

“I think so…” Muttered the young girl, still clearly feeling the effects of the drug. “My head feels fuzzy and my body's tingly. They must’ve used Hollow-Root on us.”

Hearing her symptoms only made Juvia panic more. She struggled to break free and to hold Wendy in her protective arms, but the magic binding rope only dug into her wrists. “Oh, Wendy. Juvia’s so sorry.”

Her usual stoic voice sounding like it was close to breaking down into sobs stunned Lucy.

“It's ok, Miss Juvia,” Wendy said slowly. Her fingers stretched out to try and comfort her brother’s girlfriend, but she still had little control over them. “They gave me the same dose they used on Natsu… It’ll take longer to get outta my system. I’m fine.”

“It’s good you’re awake,” Lucy said, “I’m sorry you must be scared.” Lucy was terrified, and couldn’t imagine how a girl so young must’ve been feeling.

“Oh?” Wendy slumped her head over and looked at Lucy as best as she could. “Are you Miss Lucy Heartfilia?”

“Yeah,” Lucy answered.

“My name’s Wendy, I’m sorry our guild kidnapped you and hurt your friends.”

Lucy’s mouth fell open. “You were in Phantom?"

Wendy let out a whimper that instantly made Lucy cringe. “I’m sorry my brother hurt you… He’s not a bad guy, I promise…” Now she sounded like she was starting to cry.

“No, no, no, don’t cry!” Lucy pleaded with the girl. She had already been getting reprimanded by Juvia for complaining about their predicament. She didn’t want more for making Wendy cry. She shuddered at the memory of Juvia nearly drowning her.

“I’m sorry…” Wendy sniffled. “I don’t like this place… My body feels weird… And it smells bad. Smells like blood and death… Even the air tastes bad…”

Erza grew up in the village’s orphanage. Well, it wasn’t an orphanage by any legal standards. It was a church that would give Erza and a couple other kids with no parents free food and shelter in exchange for helping out around the building. The church workers were very nice people, but it was always clear she wasn’t a part of a family. Erza had no family, not even a last name.

She had gone through two chapters when Juvia began to stir. "Good morning, beautiful," Lucy set the book down on the bed.

Lucy definitely needed a vacation. With everything that happened over the past month, she leapt at the opportunity to go to Akane Beach's resort when Loke presented her with the tickets. She was grateful to be away from the worries about the slow-going repairs of the guild hall. And after she nearly killed herself trying to save Loke by opening every Gate she owned, the relaxation was something she felt she had earned. Though, of course with her team, relaxation was rare to come by. Still, she wouldn't trade them for anything.

Lucy was so grateful that Erza hadn't been seriously hurt after the events with the Jupiter Cannon. And that Natsu was able to take down that other Dragonslayer without getting seriously injured. She had been lucky that her and Gray hadn't had to fight at all. Thanks to that Juvia woman.

As Lucy stretched out on her beach towel, she wondered about that woman. Now that Phantom Lord was dissolved, Lucy wondered what she was doing now. She was a very powerful wizard, if what she had said about the rain following her was true. Surely she'd have guilds all across Fiore banging down her door with invites to join their guild. Any guild would be lucky to have someone like her.

The thought of Juvia joining Fairy Tail crossed Lucy's mind, but she quickly shook it away. That might not be the best or safest move for Juvia, not after what happened between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord. Even though Juvia saw what her old guild was wrong, some of her guild mates might not be so forgiving. After all, Levy and her teammates had gotten brutally attacked. Even if Juvia didn't do it directly, her guild had done so. Fairy Tail was so welcoming, but when you messed with one of their guild members... Well, they'd start a war for you. And they wouldn't rest until that war was over and Fairy Tail was victorious.
