Okay so I have an idea for a fic that I know i would execute horribly but think of Yolanda being overstimulated and just kinda chilling in the ED breakroom on her lunch so she doesn't have to hear the other surgeons eat. Well, pocket full of sunshine Mel twirls in ranting about a patient case and then notices like Yolanda stimming or smthn and is just like hm okay I'll leave you to it, do you want to lights off? Just being very accommodating which actually helped
Later Yolanda is like ong thank you so much for not being overbearing or anything most people just think I'm being rude. Then Mel, in her usual Mel fashion, is like, "no problem" then rants a bit into oh my sister is autistic and has trouble with going non verbal too.
To which Yolanda is poke, "but you don't think I'm Autistic, right? RIGHT?!"
Sending Yolanda into a 3 week spiral of "Is this normal?" Until someone (Parker, Trinity, Franklin, even Mel) is like, "for the love of God just go to a paychyatrist."
Eventually she does get in to see one and turns out she does have ASD among other things.
Maybe her and Mel go together because they are besties in my mind.
