a ship I have with said character: honestly? not sure. he isn't really a character I think about ships with very often, but I will say the potential friends?->enemies->more enemies->lovers arc there with MC is kinda tea.

a BROTP I have with said character: this is just me being a Team Meteor stan but I enjoy thinking about headcanons with his relationships with the Meteor cast. his banter with Blake is entertaining especially.

a NOTP I have with said character: I don't really have one I think! same with before re:shipping for him. I usually don't see Fern+Hardy romantically, though-- I've seen that a few times before so that was the only thing to come to mind.

a random headcanon: although he doesn't seem the type, he names all his Pokemon carefully thought out nicknames. he just doesn't call them that in front of other people because He's Got A Reputation to maintain, but he's a softie for his Pokemon. I can talk an essay about how Ace/Fern friendship is important to me too but that is not for now unless I am asked.

general opinion over said character: honestly he's a lot deeper than he appears on the surface imo! he's painted as rather easy to hate, so I think people usually give him a worse rep than he deserves (I still dislike the Beryl Bridge scene, but I think giving people chances to grow and learn from their mistakes is important.) he's really interesting and has a lot of character depth, and I think he's neat and deserves better from the fandom.
