start of year check-in for french media, for future reference!
i don't have any write-ups for french as i had tons of prior study AND it's not a priority rn, but i wanted to list my general comprehension levels for each language i'm learning, with specific examples & links. [korean, mandarin , italian posts]
it was really hard to put together a respectable list for this!! i haven't done a ton of french, and just dropped my most frequently-used pocast for being too easy, so am trying tons of different media/resources.
Too easy: wanted to complete le français avec fluidité podcast [link] but it got wayyy too easy. pretty much all european french made-for-learners podcasts are in this category; the reddit rec for advanced/conversational was also too easy! (french baratin [link]); also dreaming french [link] difficulty le 60s-70s (advanced).
Easier side of normal: annenberg's french in action [link] (comparable to above but i want to finish it!). probably just avatar the last airbender for like regular watching?
Harder side of normal: tried a couple of canadian french resources made for learners that rated about this difficulty due to accent, but i dropped them both b/c low quality. (quebec french podcast [link] & maprofdefrançais on youtube [link]). native podcasts les couilles sur la table [link], home(icides) [link].
Too hard: harry potter à l'école des sorciers audiobook - got about ten mins in but dropped, very very hard; a couple podcasts on ohdio i'm saving, on s'appelle et on déjeune [link] and redoutables [link].
