j’ai commencé une série tout à l’heure qui s’appelle lupin et est absolutement en français, du coup ce fut certes une expérience de découvrir que je pouvais comprendre la plupart de la série sans sous-titres!
The bottom of the sea. The center of the Earth. A journey around the world in eighty days. And even a trip to the Moon. One man took us on all of these journeys: Jules Verne. But here is what we often forget. He did not dream all of this in Paris. He wrote a large part of his work in a quiet city in the north of France: Amiens. This video is for intermediate French learners (A2/B1) who love French culture and want to experience it through real places, real stories, and real situations.
⚜︎ 🎀 Progress update 🎀 ⚜︎ ::
I’ve been watching my little pony in French & listening to podcast. Honestly, it’s hard for me to really see much progress from doing this. However if I do it daily, I’m sure I’ll pick up on things. Any progress is good progress!
Mlp in French is really adorable too, rainbow dashes voice actor is perfect & so are all of the others. It gives the whole show a unique vibe the English didn’t have at all… it’s a really really nice experience !! 💕
You’re a beginner in French, Queer, and would love to learn the language in a way that allows you to be truly you, to navigate Queer life in French?
Good news! I’m opening a Queer French beginner group :)
We will meet once a week, on Wednesdays 5:30pm CET (so 11:30am EST and 8:30am PST), to chat, learn the language, practice in a fun and real-life way, but we’ll also have a 24/7 Discord community to keep practicing in between sessions and connect with other LGBTQ+ folks on the same journey!
This is a small group experience designed specifically for LGBTQ+ beginners. No boring textbook French, we'll learn through real situations, real vocabulary, and through having fun together. The goal is to get you to learn the French that actually reflects who you are: inclusive language, queer vocabulary, and the basics you need to exist and connect in French in general, all the while getting you to level up on general French of course.
For all this, the price is 110€/month. The course will last six months and the idea is to start on July 1st if possible!
Here’s the interest form to sign up!!

mood for this summer
my brain and body are lowkey fucked and work is a thing but i want to figure out if i can figure out learning languages again - among the many languages i want to learn - so let's see if we can plan a schedule here:
japanese - this is maybe #1 right now just because i'm in a japanese mood. i think i'm going to continue being in review mode - starting with the n3 vocab - and then i'm going to try and demolish the reviews from the lower levels (including n2 kanji). after that i'll start relearning the grammar but i'll start with n4 grammar because this brain remembers nothing. - i will also continue trying to do one comprehensible input video per day, just for listening practice, and read at least 2 pages of japanese totto-chan. it's definitely getting harder the further i go in the book (i'm on page 45 now and i'm definitely comprehending less than the beginnings of the book) but i have read the book in indonesian and english before and that really helps, i feel. also funnily enough, i feel like i have more reading stamina in japanese than in chinese, maybe thanks to anime and stuff.
mandarin this is the big thing that i should tackle isn't it. i have been a learner for many years and even though i have made progress i'm proud of, i kinda ghosted my teacher and she's now too busy for lessons (i'm not sure if she said she'll find time). the other issue is there isn't a chinese media that i'm into, unlike japanese skdjfksjfksjk - i will try to resume reading one easychinese article per day and summarize - at least 2 pages of children's chinese les mis - once a week, work through the hsk 5b textbook/workbook, even if it's slow
french i will maybe try to do one busuu lesson per day and see where it takes me? i'm not in a hurry to get anywhere but i also def want to learn french
dutch i need to find a resource to learn dutch that is NOT duolingo because that's where i used to learn it
croatian the thing was during covid i hyperfocused on croatian, got all the way to a2 before running out of resources, and have now forgotten most of it. i will need to redo the a0-a2 course and then try out the new learncro app which starts at b1!
i realize this is a lot and very ambitious on top of my other responsibilites which i'm not really doing great at and my motivation is also truly fleeting but i will try to at least do 1 and 2.
