I'm obsessed too, I must have nearly every book at this point. Henry reminds me so much of myself when I was a kid 😆

Horrid Henry has no chance in a household he must share with the snooty Perfect Peter. So if he must be horrid, why not go all out?

Hmm I know most people hate Henry’s parents with a passion and I do to sometimes but I really like the idea of literally everyone in the family chills out as they get older starting with Henry getting less mischievous or at the very least only uses pranks for good and this results with Simon and whatever headcanon name you have for the mum (I like Francesca cause Simon was named after the Simon family so it feels appropriate to me to just complete the reference to the author and her family) punishing Henry less and this results in Peter no longer feeling like he has to be perfect to receive love cause “Henry isn’t perfect and they still love him” so he sheds his toxic perfectionism and this makes Henry like him a lot more cause he no longer acts like he’s better than Henry

It takes some adjusting for everyone to get used to the new status quo and how different they’re all acting and this causes them all to reflect Simon and Francesca realize that they’ve been too hard on Henry and have been actively treating him with more benefit of doubt and understanding Henry reflects and thinks about how he wasn’t the easiest child to raise and he’s been picking up more responsibilities around the house like cleaning up and being more tidy (Henry is definitely sympathetic but he is also a little shit and I do not want this to be ignored) and Peter reflects on how his parents favoritism towards him have stunted his and Henry’s relationship as brothers so he’s been regularly hanging out with Henry they love bonding over music specifically Henry also learned guitar so they play together all the time too in general most of the problems the family used to have are gone simply cause they grew out of it changed as people and did some self reflection on what they used to be like
