I don’t have many I fear but Icarus is an old friend by @promiseofthepremise is WONDERFUL.

I have negative -10000 belief that interwebs would ever be made canon for a number of reasons but I love living in a world where interwebs as a fandom concept can and should actually become popular. In a just world, interwebs would be THEE most popular mlm ship with MCU Peter, not Tony stark or that fuck ass country ass nobody white boy from bumfuck nowhere!!!

What made you ship it?

Electric Love by @seek--rest 💞 pulled me aboard, and I have never looked back since!

What are your favorite things about the ship?

They have such a wonderful, strong friendship as it is, and adding romance would just enhance how close they are imo 🥰 which are the best ships

And Ned being Peter’s Guy in the Chair! An integral part of Spider-Man 💞 the eyes and ears, while Peter is the feet (that line may look familiar to some of you 👀). That’s adorable

Do you have any unpopular opinions about your ship?

I think shipping it at all is unpopular 😅 which is a mf SHAME because this is Peter's best mlm ship by far (and very Barrisco-coded too, which is a major plus for me :D)

Samtory/Lanichols

What made you ship it?

different but same by @jenpsaki, hands down! I always recommend this to Samtory fans, and I think it’s a perfect representation of their dynamic. It made me really see and root for the romantic potential (especially as canon also leaned into the Samtory vibes in s5 and s6 😂)

(also...this wasn't what got me into Samtory per se, but idc, I'm going to rec there's a pair of us don't tell, they'll banish us you know too, particularly if you're interested in a post-s4 take on Samtory. It's incredible, it's tied for my favorite Samtory fic, READ ITTTT)

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I really love the enemies to friends to lovers trope 💞 and Samtory had such potential for that even post-s2, if written well and with consideration.

I love how they bring out the fighting spirit in each other, how Not Normal they are about each other: that whole montage of them training to beat each other and pausing JUST long enough to kiss their boyfriends and then back to it, as well as Sam’s vision/nightmare(?) that ends with Tory of all people saying “I know exactly who you are, Princess” and Sam walks towards her voice?? AHHH

Also, I love how well they work as a team when they do become friends! I kept waiting for it eagerly, and I was so gratified to see that they really do fight like a cohesive unit (against Da-Eun in s5, against Kenny in s6, and even while they’re training in s6!) 🥰 I bet they’d do great on the Balance Wheel

Is there an unpopular opinion you have about your ship?

Well…as mentioned above, you have to be careful with E2L, especially when there’s PTSD involved. I’m of the opinion that sincere apologies from both sides can absolutely heal this relationship and help them grow, so I liked their reconciliation in s6 and found it plausible…

…except Sam apologized first. And that…that’s always going to rankle. Because listen. I don’t care how rude people think Sam was at the beach club, it will never be worse than Tory CUTTING SAM’S ARM and hospitalizing her. That’s just a fact. Now, she showed some genuine regret in s3, and you can absolutely build on that and have her express remorse to Sam, Sam forgives her (either immediately or after some time), they become friends, then maybe lovers as well. That’s very plausible to me! But it has to be like that…otherwise, it’ll always be a little unsatisfying.

Why don’t you ship it?

Okay in my defense…I used to ship it in the early seasons. And I’m not averse to it entirely, they have cute moments. But the more the show went on, the more Carmen felt less like a character and more like Johnny’s arm candy…especially once they introduced the baby storyline. That whole mess REALLLY put me off the ship

What would have made you like it?

No baby storyline 😭 also…no bizarre Johnny/Ali shipbaiting?? That was odd. Like…Johnny slept with Carmen, then went out on a date with Ali (and there were some serious sparks), then committed to Carmen. Like?? What was that??

I also feel it was never quite as two-sided as it should’ve been tbh. It often felt more like Carmen helping Johnny more than the other way around. Would’ve liked more moments of Johnny helping Carmen too!

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it?

They’re lovely in the early seasons 💞 I could see it coming a mile away, but their buildup was very sweet, and at their best, they’re a ship on calm waters, floating gently along, rocked by the occasional wave but still standing strong. I honestly miss early-seasons Johnny/Carmen 😭 they’ll be canon in the CK AU, and I hope to keep them the lovely, steady ship I once knew them to be

What made you ship it?

Learning about them, and that they were (in Legends, not current canon) married, and learning their story! Enemies to lovers done REALLY well, from what I can tell 💞

What are your favorite things about the ship?

I mean…their whole premise, honestly. Mara being sent to kill him (the last command from the Emperor, burned into her like a compulsion), actually getting to know him, struggling with whether or not she can even do it, but with his help, she finds a loophole (killing his clone, Luuke. Yeah Legends was…interesting). He trains her to be a Jedi, and somewhere in between, they fall in love, get married, and have Ben (Skywalker, ofc, not Solo) 🥰 it’s an incredible story for the ages imo, and it’s a shame we’ll never see it adapted in current canon. But I shall do my best to replicate it in the Lucy AU!

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I get why they didn’t put her in the movies, and I doubt they would’ve really had time to introduce her, but it would’ve been really cool to see her and Luke interact at least once onscreen 😔
