one day my phone is going to explode and it'll be ibis paint's fault
I tried doing what I did for Mikey's picture. Unfortunately, lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice 😞

im hoping nothing bad happens this go around...while i wait, have another april
.
.
I've taken a liking to trenchcoats and wife beaters, if you haven't noticed.
anyway, this doesn't take place at any important time. i just wanted to draw April today.
while I know learning anatomy is beneficial to me as an artist, i like the look of bendy arms, too.
also, my other account got hacked(?), so make sure you don't bother with those. Ordo, but if there's something you want to ask about you'd have to screenshot or tag this account.
i feel like i got evicted :-(
FP11 Masterlist
Fun Fact (if it wasn't obvious) my AU is called FP11 because the timeline extends eleven years past the date the canonical timeline ends. Here, everyone dies (maybe) around 2055. I needed the extra time for worldbuilding.

What do you mean Leo isn't relevant for 10 years?

Background: “long-winded lecture as to why jumping into a gorge with no proper precautions is stupid as shit and, no, Casey, “no balls” is not an acceptable reason to put your life in danger.”
--
I got the art book, and while I didn't really go through it properly, the tip about drawing heads was helpful.
I refused to draw that big ass arm so, if you weren't already familiar, Leo's arm is based on Guts' prosthetic from berserk. It looks cooler.
I really doubt anyone got "alone time" in the apocalypse unless everyone else was dead
.
.
I think Casey staying with/in proximity to the Past Hamatos would be akin to joining a new classroom towards the middle of the year, and that feeling you have when you meet someone that's impossibly similar to someone you already knew, to the point that you get memories confused when thinking about either of them.
Or, even worse, moving back to a city you left in the past, and being both familiar and unfamiliar with the environment. Like, yeah, you remember that gas station from six years ago, but now the logo is different and so are the employees.

let's go on a walk with mama

ft. Casey's giant ponytail.
I've settled on giving Cassandra a pixie cut. At this point, every woman I draw either has this or freeforms—it's a lifestyle.
Happy Mother's Day!
(earlier than the rest of you)
.
I planned on putting lyrics from either:
—but I decided this was nice enough.
Also, redesigns/designs! I've only ever drawn Cassandra and Casey in active gear, and I've been doing a whole bunch of bs with Leo for a year now—but now I have actual/additional designs for them!
The idea of putting Cassandra in a cloak was kinda random, but I was partially inspired by the scene in Witch Hat Atelier when Coco hides in Qifrey's cloak upon meeting Olruggio.
There are bits and pieces of older designs in everyone's (sans Antonia's) clothes. I won't be linking anything because I'm embarrassed, but it's obvious enough.
For all the dark colors everyone wears, I still want them to be visually noticeable from afar. As I've said in the past, Future Plus Eleven is set during an apocalyptic winter. Bright colors make it easier to find people in the snow and, more importantly in-world, distinguishes rebels* from everyone else.
—
*rebel = resistance fighters; literally anyone that exists outside a monocity.
**monocity = large, monochromatic, densely populated, surveillance states controlled by Sterling Operations (and the Kraang whenever they show up). They're also survivors of the invasion, but they've been taken into a "safe haven" in which they work to assemble parts for kraang technology.
Lots of propaganda about the world beyond Sterlings's control going on.

In an older post, I mentioned that Leo got a big ass scar on her chest because Antonia was originally a parasite that was reconverted shortly after birth.
Recently, because I've been re-thinking different parts of my AU, I thought it would make more sense for all victims of assimilation to bear physical evidence.
Pearls (as seen here) explode.
For kraang, this is a good thing. The exploding pearl releases spores that have the chance to infect nearby organisms.
For everyone else, this is particularly troublesome, especially when it comes to trying to deconvert (and later rehabilitate) assimilants.
Attempting to remove a pearl via surgery is useless. Its cartilaginous exterior acts as a shield, and regenerates when damaged. Rather, Purple Rain (PR) dissolves both a Pearl's cartilage and the body itself.
Once the foreign body has been removed, it's a race against time to mystically stabilize an ex-assimilant's body and begin PR treatments to remove the infection in full.
A deep gouge is left in place of a pearl. Purple Rain—being an acid—eats away at whatever it comes into contact with, and, unfortunately, surgeons have to apply PR to the flesh surrounding a pearl to ensure it doesn't regrow.
